Kingman follow up

Guys/Gals,

What all of you have proven with the many comments since my original post is that the procedures at Pilot/Flying J vary across the country. There seems to be no clear cut policy/procedure that we can rely on. So, for those of you trying to understand what to do or not do, don't rely on others experiences as posted. They (Pilot/Flying J) are just too screwed up to know what they are doing.

Lyle, I agree with you to a degree but not the 'clear cut policy/procedure' part. P/FJ does have such a policy, which is spelled out clearly on their website. I have used P/FJ stops from Virginia to Arizona over the last 16 months and never had any problems on variance in policy.
So I conclude that you unfortunately experienced the exception, not the rule. IMHO, Kingman is goofed up, not P/FJ.

Lyle,

During our trip to the FMCA convention in Madison last year, we used the FJ/Pilot on a number of occasions. Sometimes it worked as advertised, and some not. There are two types of stores, company owned and franchise. The franchise do not have to honor the frequent filler card but after talking to a couple of managers, they did go ahead and honor the card. I think they still have a lot of work to do on their system.
On another forum, there is/was a discussion and an employee for FJ/Pilot answered questions and fielded complaints. You might find some interesting reading here. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f64/hi-im-lynsay-from-pilot-flying-j-89955.html

Flying J, in Perryville MD. was 19cents a gallon for diesel more than the next closest station, about 2 weeks ago. $3.99 vs. $4.18 at Flying J. This of course negates any discount offered by F/J. Diesel currently $3.69 per gallon at the $3.99 filling station. Barrie Boas 94 Concept 5111
