Hello all,

I am Rich Villa, I own a 02 Magna with a tag axel, # 6089. I have a unique on going problem, I wonder if any of you have resolved.
I have a leek in my air-condition line between the engine to the dash. The leek is berried in the frame and no one can located it.
I was told a replacement line must be run from engine to dash. Last year I contacted Fortravel in Texas, explained the problem they said they could do it, made a appointment and drove 350mi's the night before so I could be ready for service first thing the next morning. After waiting all day till 5:00 the service mgr said they could not find the leek, that I had two other shops told me could not be located. I asked the service mgr why they didn't replace the lines as I had explained needed to be done, he said they thought they could find the leek and their liability would not let them and they had there best mechanic and they were sorry.

I have contacted a number of shops none will take on the challenge!
If any one has information to lead me to I would very much like to get the fixed. No dash air is torture, HELP.

Rich

I believe Western States CAT in Meridian, Idaho had done that on a late model Magna when I was recently there.

You have my sympathy. Over a 2 year period, I had 3 different shops try to find a similar problem on my 02 Allure.
First shop in CA traced the problem actually back to the radiator. After that was fixed (new radiator) I still had a problem and couldn't get cool air at the dash. 2 guys from this shop spent 4 hours trying to find the problem (at least they didn't charge me for the 4 hours because they felt that it was there fault they couldn't find the source of the problem).
Shop #2 in OR found a break in a wire in the wiring harness bundle which was the problem ... then they said, by the way you also were low on freon and have a slow leak somewhere, but we can't find it. We charged the system so you'll probably be good for a few of months. And I was.
Now to Shop #3 in OR because the freon was gone and I, like you, was hot. They put a purple dye into the system and then pressurized it with a high level of air. After about 10 minutes the microscopic pin hole leak in an aluminum tube let go and the dye started to bleed out. They then had a new connection made along with new hose (custom part). The aluminum tube was rubbing on a piece of metal and over the years the aluminum just wore away in one spot. Finally it was fixed. I have no complaints with the 3 shops as they all got a piece of the problem solved, but I had almost reached the point of giving up.
Try the dye and high pressure approach as that was what found an impossible to find leak in my case

Richard, I recommend you get to Birdland Coach Service in Houston, Michael Weil-Owner, 713 682-6323 I'm sure he can diagnose and find the issue. He was an authorized CC Repair facility prior to CC going down. He's knows the coach's and A/C stuff very well.

Thanks, Mike 03 Allure 1st Ave. #30898

Mine has had a leak twice and each time it was at the rear of the coach where it turns after exiting the compressor and heads down the frame rail. Just my two cents.
