Outside Shower Problem

On a recent trip my outside shower (plumbing bay) began leaking water from the knob at a high rate while in the campground. The knob internally had broken and would not allow the water to shut off.
Since the Allure doesn't have a manifold system, it was a big problem as the water had to be shut off and we were in the middle of nowhere Idaho. I had to remove the panel housing the little door to the fresh water hookup and reach inside and remove the lines to the outside water faucet and then remove the faucet assembly. It's made from cheap ole plastic. Found a replacment 50 miles away and it to is just cheap ole plastic, but at least we had water again.

100 degree's in the shade, took several adult beverages to get through it! If it happens to you, now you know how to fix it. By the way, the place I found the replacement faucet said they see it happening all the time...

Hey - this is the kind of problem I meant when I mentioned listing not only our coach numbers, but the model year and perhaps date of mfg. Your Allure is two past ours and we haven't had the outside shower problem yet. Have you had the slide hoses replaced? Have you had the start solenoid die yet? Have you had the transfer switch (or Master Switch as CC calls it) go bad yet??

We all need to correlate our model numbers, years, and mfg dates in order to determine when these problems are most likely to occur. CC uses a lot of the same parts across the model lines, so the mfg dates are important.

Hi J,

I agree, that's why I always show my unit number. Mine was made in 12/01. Yes I had the HWH lines changed out and haven't had any of the other problems you have. In fact, other than my own modifications (Aux air tank to decrease compressor cycles)I have had no problems in 22,000 miles. If you ever lose your 120 Volt plugs and the GFI is dead, you have to remove the panel in the battery bay and reset the inverter 15 amp breaker to get power restored. Most of the potential problems I could have had I took preventive measures early. Example, a coolant line rubbing against the frame, oil dipstick rubbing the filter, drooping wires with no ties, loose clamps, fittings, etc. I'm fortunate enough to do my own work in my garage and sometimes think I spend more time on the creeper than I do driving. The Coach has been very good so far... You should think about a Silverleaf, the factory gauges are a joke.
Keep us posted on any problems, I will do the same..
