Passenger step cover - 2006 Country Coach Inspire 360 #51942

Interior passenger step cover--covers the inside steps for passenger foot rest. The motor went out for the step cover to retract and go out. We checked with Country Coach and they have them for approx. $370. The name on the part that pushes the step cover out is Kundtson MGF Inc. Has anyone had to replace this step motor and found one for less than $370? It is such a small motor I can't believe one could cost this much. It is also hard to get to as there are 4 bolts holding it which are only accessible from underneth and I haven't removed the motor yet to find any other identification on it.

Are you sure the motor has failed? A common failure is the set screw working lose. The motor turns but the cover does not move. Happened to me.

Another common failure is the limit switch becoming misaligned or failing. You might check to see if the motor gets voltage when you press the button.

Try banging on the Ceiling Crossbeam with a hammer located in the electrical bay behind the driver front wheel. You can also try kicking the slide-step inward. This jars the micro-switches to the correct working position IMO. Both of these methods have worked for me in the past.
