A/C units streaking up coach

Yahoo Message Number: 84001
2 of my 3 air conditioners drain down the side of the coach instead of through the drain lines. Does anyone know the proper procedure for cleaning them out and where are they located? Are they visible once you remove the covers on top of the a/c units? Also, the stains this has created on the side of the coach doesn't seem to come off with soap and water, nor with wipe and shine. What should be used to get the stains off? It looks like acid rain stains.

Jerry:

If your units are similar to mine, I would guess that the condensate pumps are dead or the lines are blocked. (The water will then drain out of a weep hole on the side of the reservoir.)
It all depends on how handy you are....Remove the unit cover...on mine the condensate pumps are a small silver cover below the cover for the capacitors. The condensate line is exposed and is easy to check (it comes out of this cover and routes down in the front of the unit.
If you remove the pumps, I suggest you replace the adjacent "filters" in the drain pan (one each end)...the mfg. does not have a part # for these...but will provide them if pressed.

Get out the manufacturers literature or check online for diagrams.
Replacement pumps come as an assembly and have to be ordered from the manufacturer.

I'd just add one first step to the good advice by Denis.
Find the drain tubes for your roof A/C units under the coach and blow pressurized air up them. That should clear the lines, then clean around under the cover. Then do a test run to see if the condensate drains through the tubes.
