I've just received my renewal invoice from Progressive which had a 21% increase in the comprehensive coverage premium, or from $925 to $1,115. Over-all premium is up from $1,545 to $1,762 or 14% Upon inquiry to Progressive I was informed " the rates have gone up in your state ( Arkansas). I know it's difficult to compare premiums because of different coverages for various coaches, but I'd be interested to know if others are experiencing the one year increase I received.

Hi Walt,

I am paying about $1800/yr for $250K/500k liability, $100k property damage, same limits for uninsured motorist, $100k medical, collision actual value - 500 ded., comprenhesive actual value - 250 ded.
Located in a small town in central coast California. I just got two quotes from GMAC Insurance: motorhome only - $450/yr and MH with two cars $845/yr. Got the first quote online and the 2nd over the phone. No regional/local sales offices (like Allstate) - all operated out of headquarters in St Louis, MO.
Anyone use them?

Walt,

We have been with Mendota (written through Gilbert RV Insurance Agency) with our past two coaches. We just received our current renewal amount, due in October - it is identical to the previous year - the coach is registered in TN.

I've used them since 2000 and go thru Good Sam. Actually I changed the first year when Progressive upped the rates for no reason ( I hate it when they do that)....I have a 1999 Allure and used $100 deductible to make the comparison and they were half what Progressive was..I pay less than $1000 a year. Also, if you store your MH for a period of time they will lower the rates due no driving.

I'm in West Tennessee.

I had one claim under $1000 and they worked with me really well. I banged up a storage door and they allowed me to order the parts and install them myself.

You can pay on line or over the phone and use your GM card and get the points....

We feel your pain. We live in WA and had Progressive for both cars, home, and RV, after their 40% increase on auto, we dumped them. We have never had a ticket, an accident or any reason to raise our rates. Their only reason was, "the state allowed us to." I am not looking forward to November when we get our rates for the RV our one and only last coverage with them. We switched to Farmers and saved a bundle.
Good Luck in your search,

My renewal came in at 1100 and change.... Down from 1400 and change. I don't know why yet and will wait for the declaration page to arrive. I'm afraid to call my agent for fear that I'll get a revised bill!
I do have the diminishing deductible and it was continued on my new coach.

How can there be such a difference in rates? It makes no sense to me.
It's too late for me this year but I will CLOSELY research the rates of different companies next year.
