New Owner - Used Coach - Heater won't work

Yahoo Message Number: 84152
Hello Team!

When I say we are novice RV owners...we are completely NOVICE! We just purchased a 2002 Intrigue on Saturday and cannot get the heat to work. We have the generator running (for about an hour). On the Monitor Panel, we have turned on the switches for Central Heat Control and Interior Heat Exchangers. There are 2 lights under the Central Heat Control which turn green, then a 5 second alarm goes off, and then the light goes to red.
I cannot find anywhere in the manual which explains the two lights below the Central Heat Control Switch.
Any ideas or help you can give on either what we may be doing wrong or where I can find more detailed information?
We've been trying to heat the coach for just over an hour and there is no heat. The temp on the dashboard shows the generators to be just barely over 100 degrees (both the generator and the engine are diesel).

Thanks so much!

Hello 4 Teva 2, There are few ways to heat your Intrigue. Our 2002 Intrigue has a Hurricane Heater which is also diesel. Near the fridge is a thermostat with a zone selection. Select furnace on 1 & 2 and the furnace should light if the central heat switches are on. If you select heat pump the roof units will start on fan and in a few minutes the heat pumps will start, providing the generator is on or a shore line is plugged in. Over the road heat from the engine will be selected at the dash panel controls to the left of the steering column. feel free to call...Hope this helps....Skip 2002 Intrigue #1129

My heat works like this.

When plugged in or running the generator: If I set both zones on the thermostat to Heat Pump, I think that is what it shows, the heat pumps will come on after a short time.
If I want to run the Hurricane, I set both zones on the thermostat to Furnace. I also turn the switches on the monitor panel to on. I also have to turn on the control panel located in the same storage location as the Hurricane furnace.
When your red light on the Monitor Control panel comes on what lights are on at the control panel where the Hurricane burner is located?

Well, we have the problem solved! Bottom line, we need to replace the Photo Diode. We have a new one on the way...can't say enough great things about the support from Hurricane!!

Thanks to everyone for your quick and generous help!!

For some reason I didn't see your first post. Anyway, you will find the Hurricane a reliable unit if you take care of it. The major parts that go wrong are the pump, and as you found out the photo eye. If you don't run the unit very much, the nozzle can clog up and cause problems. I carry a spare I got while troubleshooting the unit. I also carry a spare ignitor. The Hurricane people are very nice and can actually troubleshoot the unit over the phone because it is that simple.
