Help--New to me one of many problems (2006 CC Inspire)

Yahoo Message Number: 84722
New to the forum and Happy New Year to All Kind of long for my first post but need some help.
This past week we just picked up a 2006 Country Coach Inspire 360 40ft Genoa Designer Series with 17500mi on it and have a few thing that are not working right.
It has the Surge Guard Power Protector along with the xantrex invertor/charger monitor BOTH work the way they should. I have the same xantrex system on my 5er but I have the Progressive Industries Surge Protector with Remote Display Hardwired in that shows voltage and amps being used.
The Country Coach also has the built-in energy management monitors that should tells me how much power my rig is consuming, and if it gets too high, it will turn off some of the heavier loads if I am hooked up to a 30amp service. I think the intent is to automatically budget my power usage, and prevent me from tripping the campground pedestal breaker (or my main breaker.) That's all that system does, I think? New at this.
Well that system is DEAD no lights, it should have lights on it even with nothing on like (AC Heat pumps Water heater) to read amps being used, Nothing. I have it hooked to a 30Amp service. My brain is killing me from looking at these books.
Everything on the 12v side works all lights, water pump, slides, step. Right now I have NO propane on board but I do have a problem with the water heater (Atwood duel switch) nothing on 110 side (no hot water) but the Convection Microwave works heated up a cup of water to check. I did pull the fuse to the EMS 7.5 and it is good. When i went to replace it i could hear something clicking.
One other thing for now how do you keep the steps out if parked. I turned off the step switch and it still goes in when you close the door and out when you open it, going to kill the step motor.
Good thing i'm not full timing yet. More to come later.
Thanks for any help on this
Floyd

Look for a reset button on the xantrex, mine is back of a panel in the basement. Should be step switch by the passenger seat.

When we first purchased our coach, the dealer had to replace a transfer switch in the "power" box in the closet in the bedroom. The switches were a known problem. At first, they tapped on the switch and it worked, but eventually had to be replaced. The switch transfers from battery power to shore power. When it's working you can actually hear the click when shore power is ready. Sorry about the non-technical lingo.

Yes I know where the switch is by the seat and steps but you can flip it but does not kill the power to the step either way.
The xantrex works the way it should reading everything the right way. It's the EMS that is dead blank screen.

Step problem. Clean off the brass contacts on the door and body. You can use an abrasive pad. Works for me. Power to the coach. I found burnt brushes and slip rings in the power cord real. This was causing a power issue playing havoc with the transferr switch.

I clean the Brass contacts and the steps do stay out with the coach lights on but when you turn the light switch off by the steps then close the door the step go in. Why would you need all the switch light on with the radio to kill the step if you are doing something inside or am I missing something.

re door brass contacts:

Burnishing or cleaning the brass door contacts is only the first step to correct step or door lock contact problems which will usually last for months. If the contacts are lightly coated with NOOX or a similar compound electricians use on wiring connections-to prevent oxidation and arching -it usually will last for months. NOOX is cheap and readily found at Lows or other big box stores.

I got it fixed. Ordered a new EMS panel board off ebay got it today plugged it in and now I have all kind of green lights and reading the amps in use, all is good. My punch list is getting smaller.
