Help! Water pump problem after overfilling water tank

I hope someone has a quick answer to this.
I overfilled the water tank this morning (yeah, nobody ever does that). When I went out, the water was coming out the overflow area.
I decided to "help it" by turning on the water pump and opening the faucets inside the coach. Well, the water pump continues to go whether the faucets are open or not. The only way I can get the water pump to shut off is to turn the button off. The water pressure I'm getting is minimal, too. The water pump area got wet, so I've dried it out as best I can.

Anyone ever have this problem? Any solutions? We're due to leave tomorrow...'natch.

Jan,

Sounds like you need to turn the fill knob in water bay back to the closed position.

Jan: If turning off the valve all the way isn't the answer, I had similar situation when the fill valve on my coach broke off internally during the very first trip out. I had to bypass it for temporary use while I had a new one sent to me. I had to pull the valve off and plug each end. Later on, my water pump went nuts and allowed the water to fill the tank all of the time when hooked up to city water. A new pump fixed that problem. Good luck.

Did you turn off the water tank fill valve Jan? I am practically deaf so do not hear it if not wearing my hearing aid...
