We stayed at Glacier Meadow RV Park on US Hwy 2, 16 miles west of East Glacier MT. You can go into Glacier from East Glacier or drive to West Glacier from there.
Friendly managers. Long level pull thrus. Water electric (no sewer) but they come around to pump your tanks and the price is included in the site fee. Very quiet place. Easy to get satellite. Cell service not so good. they have a booster in the pavillion you can use, or I bought a Wilson Sleek booster to use for my cell phone and mi-fi.
If it's a weekend or holiday I would make reservations. They were almost full when we were there.

You might try this park on the West side. W always like this park, but doubt they will be open before April. It is big rig friendly.

While we are now normally a fan of KOA, we stayed at their campground at West Glacier several years ago and were pleased.

Hi John and Jackie,

There's a KOA in St. Mary which is on the east side of Glacier. We stayed there with our 40' 06 Inspire. Lots of room. Many Lake and Glacier are on the east side to, and they are beautiful to visit along with the gorgeous lodges. We had been advised to stay on the east side so that by 9 AM we could be on the road of the Going to the Sun Road having the sun behind us lighting up the mountains for us. We had little traffic that way too, but the folks coming from the west side of Glacier had a lot more traffic and the sun in their eyes at times. When we headed back to St. Mary about 3 in the afternoon, the sun was at our back again, and we had less traffic going our way again. I'm looking forward to places suggested to stay on either side as we've only been there once and can't wait to go back!

We also have a 40' with Tag...Plenty of room for our coach and tow vehicle. That being said... they allow vehicle wash at each site for $$$, so the first one we were assigned, was mud puddled and we asked to be re-assigned. They did not like to do it, but finally agreed when I pointed out that for me to plug in and put my sewer hose out, I was not pleased staying in muddy water. It is a typical KOA campground.
You can get Pizza on site and they have an all U can eat breakfast or dinner (I believe). We picked up a sight seeing car/bus from the campground and was on a 4 hour tour. This vehicle allowed U to stand up from ur seat and take pictures of animals and sights. Got great pictures from the vehicle of a grizzly, it was really really close at the time. Do not know about the quality of West Glacier KOA, but, they are in a great location for visiting the Park.

A really cool park and there is a great bar/restaurant down the road but not close to the Park. Look up Spruce Park aka on the River they are trying to upgrade their name. It is in Kalispell on the Flathead River and very nice and convenient to Whitefish, Big Fork and the Park. Whitefish and Big Fork are pretty cool tourist towns but worth the visit. Kalispell is the commercial hub and more significantly according to my wife has Costco.

Jim

The reason they may not be open is because of SNOW which is the same reason we are in Palm Springs.

I stayed at the West Glacier KOA. It was a very nice park. It was a very high energy park. People outside, campfires, Had a place on site to get Breakfast and dinner. I would definately stay there again if I'm ever in the area.
