Question, does a 50 amp autoformer work on 30 amp service? How well? Do you size the autoformer based on the service you use or your coach? I have been told to use the 30 amp since that is where the problems lie. I have been told to use the 50 amp because that is what your coach uses. I need some clarity based on FACTS.
Thanks

To ensure a truly factual answer, I recommend that you call the company. I hear they're very helpful.

What problem are you trying to solve?

a)   Low voltage at a 30 amp service hookup only?
b)   Low voltage at both 30 and 50 amp hookups?
c)   Something else?

If "a)", then a 30 amp autoformer should work just fine since you will not be able to draw more than 30 amps from the service regardless of whether or not you use an autoformer.

If "b)", then a 50 amp autoformer will be required and should work just fine at 30 amps. (or 1 amp for that matter)

If "c)", I don't have a clue.

At the risk of bringing down the rath of all the electrical engineers I will state my fealings about the Gadget box claiming to solve camp Ground power short commings. The saying I beleive is "you can't get blood out of a turnip". If our wonderfull coach manufacturers felt the gadget was a worthy addition (option) for the coaches, they would sell them.

It may serve to bring the voltage up to some more acceptable level, but it can't make power, watts, or more amps to run your coach. Most campgrounds that have upgraded and provide 50 amp service don't have a problem except when everyone has both airconditioners running and the gadget box won't help then anyway. Older 30 amp service campground wiring is another story. Attempting to operate with lower voltage only serves to raise the amp drain and it is hard on the equipment. Wereas the voltage may be brought up there will be less amps available to work with.

In my humble opinion, I would not waste my money.
