Our front TV is a Sharp Aquos LC-37DB5U, has anyone removed theirs? How do I remove it?

Thanks,

As I recall, the door to the right of the tv has a panel that can be removed by removing a couple of screws. That gives access to a portion of the side/rear of the tv. Also, the panel on the backside bottom of the tv (sit on the dash and look between the windshield and tv)can be removed. I believe the tv is held in by two metal straps running horizontally behind the tv and the tv is held to it by four bolts. Also, the various cables need to be unplugged. Good luck. Also, many of the new tv's are not as wide as the Aquos and are higher. I took out the Aquos several years ago and had to remove the top wood piece to allow the new tv enough height. I filled in the sides with plywood with approx. 1" holes to allow for air flow and covered them with speaker cloth. It worked out great.

On my 07 Allure, the whole wood cabinet holding the TV can be removed. There are 4 screws on the face of the cabinet under the wood buttons and 6 (or 8) screws on the back under side. Remove the panel facing the windshield to access these screws. Taking down the cabinet allows easy access to removing/replacing the TV. I replaced mine with a Samsung 40" model 6000. Width is perfect fit, bottom was filled with panel covered with speaker cloth.
