CCO Monthly Newsletter

Nine regional Country Coach clubs and the two international Country Coach clubs were invited to contribute to a monthly newsletter the Country-Coach-Owners Yahoo Group would post. We realize that the clubs usually have their own websites, but this consolidated newsletter will allow them to quickly identify "happenings" and pointers for you to their events.

We had input this month from two clubs:

* Country Coach International Club (CCI) * Country Coach Friends Incorporated (CCFI)

COUNTRY COACH INTERNATIONAL (CCI)
END OF JANUARY, 2013 MONTHLY NEWS
28 YEARS AND GOING STRONG

THINKING ABOUT GOING TO THE CCI RALLY IN CODY, WYOMING, THIS COMING JUNE?

WELL, IT'S TIME FOR THE TOP 9 REASONS TO ATTEND!

1. For motorhome owners, Cody, WY, will be the place to be this June. There are three rallies in Cody and a fourth in Gillette, WY, all within 21 days! In addition to our CCI rally go to 1 or 2 others, what a hoot! You're sure to see all your friends. Here's the June schedule -

2-7 Diesel RV Club, Cody 10-14 Country Coach International, Cody 19-23 Rocky Mountain Country Coachers, Cody 19-22 FMCA International, Gillette, WY
That's a lot of Rallies, friends to see, & plenty of time for all the great things to see and do . . . read on!

2. Amazing Scenery. You'll find everything from the most remote wilderness in the lower 48, sage brush deserts, rivers, lush valleys and Yellowstone National Park. There are two spectacular scenic drives outside of Cody, the Beartooth All-American Road and the North Fork Highway. Both are considered to be some of the most scenic drives in America. At the CCI Rally we'll have maps and day trip routes.

3. History. Be sure to jump on the Cody Trolley to learn more about Buffalo Bill and a tour of the area's historical sites, geology, wildlife and old and new west attractions. In an hour, you will get a hundred years of history! Visit the Cody Mural Visitors Center to learn about the Mormon pioneer's life in the Big Horn Basin. Tecumseh's Old West Miniature Village and Museum is a great treasure with a huge diorama of Wyoming and western history.

4. Yellowstone. America's first National Park is one of the most unique places on earth. From your car, visitors can view wild animals in their natural setting. Not unlike an African safari, you can drive through the vast herds of bison in the Lamar Valley and spot a pack of wolves, coyotes or a grizzly bear.

5. Rodeo - Cody is Rodeo! The Cody Nite Rodeo is the longest running nightly rodeo in the country. Contestants compete every night from June 1 to August 31st at Stampede Park. You can watch cowboys compete in roping, bareback and saddle bronc riding and the exciting event of bull riding. This is truly a night of western entertainment.

6. Western Art. There are several wonderful art galleries in Cody. You will find bronzes, oil paintings, watercolors, wildlife photography and furniture. The Whitney Gallery inside the Buffalo Bill Historical Center features the work of Frederic Remington, Charles M. Russell and Thomas Moran to name a few.

7. Wildlife Viewing. The drive from Cody to the East gate of Yellowstone is beautiful and full of wildlife. Big Horn sheep and bison are known to hang out right on the road. Deer and elk can be spotted in the hayfields in the evenings and on the mountain ridges during the day. Stop near Pahaska Tepee, Buffalo Bill's historic hunting lodge.

8. Buffalo Bill. - No one symbolizes the American West better than Buffalo Bill. He was a man of many talents ? showman, businessman, hunter and scout. He had great visions for Cody and the surrounding area. The Buffalo Bill Historical Center pays tribute to this legend with a museum solely dedicated to him.

9. Adventure. Outdoor experiences are abundant in Cody/Yellowstone Country. The area is home to tons of trails for horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking.

Country Coach Corporation, Oregon Motorcoach Center, Premier RV Services, Carr Industries, Big Rigs Best Bets, Mary Moppins and other CCFI business friends celebrated the 200th coach family member during a drawing held to commemorate the club's steady growth.

2013 Rallies Include the CCFI Spring Rally Fun, May 14-19, 2013, Buckhorn Lake RV Resort, Kerrville, TX. Only 60 Spaces are available; registrations are posted at the club website:

Next is the 3rd Annual CCFI Friendship Rally, August 21-25, 2013, Linn County Fair & Expo Center, Albany, OR. A registration form will soon be available. Then CCFI finishes with the CCFI Fall Fun Rally, October 7-12, 2013, Napa County Fairgrounds, Calistoga, CA.

You're invited to rally in Texas this May 14-19 at the CCFI Spring Rally. We will be making reservations for the famous Rock Box Theater (voted number one attraction by Trip Advisor in Texas). Rock Box Theater has added several new members to the cast since your last trip to Kerrville. Come early and catch some of the Blue Bonnets (see article in this issue). Lady Bird Johnson had them planted along all the highways. Take time to visit the LBJ Ranch in Johnson City and make a stop at the wild seed farm on your way. There are so many things to see in the area so I encourage you to plan to stay awhile. Luckenbach is a short drive and a great place to watch the local pickers as well as have a cool beverage and lunch. The Nimitz National Museum of the Pacific War is in Fredericksburg and the Museum of Western Art is here in Kerrville are both well worth your visiting. The Texas gourmet cuisine is fantastic! Be prepared to stretch your belt on your free night and the evening of the Rock Box Theater. Bring your boots or tennies to kick up your heals on the two nights of live music after a great Buckhorn dinner. You will not run out of things to do in Texas. Y'all come on down. I encourage you to register for this rally now and save you spot at this rally.

The 3rd Annual Friendship Rally is on the horizon! Scheduled for August 21-25, 2013, it will be a fun time to revisit traditions and form new ones! Looking back forty years ago Country Campers opened its doors. For over three and a half decades, industry leading RV innovations were developed, thousands of the world's finest motorcoaches were built, and motorcoach rallies featured nonstop fun, including those unforgettable chicken barbecues that are among the memories Country Coachers hold dear. Now Fast-forward to 2013 where we'll be celebrating Fun, Friends and All Things Country Coach at the Friendship Rally! CCFI will even be returning to a popular rally site where the last of the Country Coach, LLC Class Reunions were held! We are returning to one of our favorite rally sites from the Country Coach, LLC days of Class Reunions--the Linn County Fair & Expo, 3700 Knox Butte Road, Albany OR 97322 in Albany, Oregon. It's right off I-5 freeway for easy access to the rally site. At this limited amenities rally, honey wagon and potable water services provided. Do you remember Burton's Catering from past company rallies at the Linn County Fair & Expo? Remember the apple strudel and blueberry buckle at breakfasts? Expect that and so much more! Jan and Affairs Catering team is at the helm now, and you can expect the same mouth watering menus. Enjoy 4 breakfasts and 3 dinners preceded by social hours. Attend many informative and entertaining seminars and classes (like technical seminars on your coach and its systems, owners round table discussions, yoga sessions and more) for the next four days. Travel to Junction City, the birthplace of all Country Coaches, just 30 minutes down the freeway. We will visit three of our biggest club sponsors, Ron Lee's Country Coach Corporation, Oregon Motorcoach Center co-owned by Bob Lee and Pat Mason, and Premier RV Services co-owned by Gary Obermire and Louie Courtemanche. All three will roll out the red carpet for company tours. Settle back in the evenings and reconnect with old friends, make new friends, enjoy great evening entertainment. Business sponsors are marking their calendars, and we invite you to do so, too! Pat & Candayce Detloff are hosting this 5-day Party! A full agenda is being planned reminiscent of the rallies of the past, albeit on a smaller scale these days. There are many volunteers opportunities so when you sign up be sure to mark the committee which you are interested in being on when you register. There are 200 coach spaces available. Come celebrate 40 years of Country Coaching travel memories!

This club's business is handled via a virtual office and I am the main point of contact at 775-742-4627. I have completed chemo and now have started radiation five days a week for four weeks. I mention this because several of you have visited at Buckhorn Lake RV Resort, and I have tried to stop by to say hi but lack of energy kept me from doing much else. I apologize for not being more social and if I have not returned your call in a timely manner please call again. Should you need a faster reply when you call or email, you may always feel free to call Consultant to the Board of Directors, Sherry Fanning, at 541-521-1093, and she'll be happy to lend assistance as well. Rally locations are being explored for 2014 to accommodate more coaches. If you have recommendations, we welcome the input! Email ideas at countrycoachfriendsinc@...! Membership and Rallies are open to all brands! Learn more at www. CountryCoachFriendsIncorporated.com.
