New tow vehicle

Anyone out there have any comments (good or bad) owning and towing a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid or Chevy Cruze ECO? I am considering the Fusion Hybrid and the vastly cheaper Chevy Cruze ECO with a 1.4 Turbo with 6 speed manual. Both vehicles are flat towable. Of course there is always the Honda CRV which I am also considering.

Jose i have towed a 2009 Honda CRV 3 years find it excellent for me but you will have to install a battery disconnect because to leave the key so the coulomb does not lock the running lights stay on and will kill the battery there lots available i got mine at harbor freight.

All I can do is reply the how well my daughter likes her 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid that we bought her last year and we got her 98 Honda Accord with 185K on it, in 2 words (Loves It) We used the Ford X plan got about another $3k off. She does some town driving plus in the morning she has about 2mi down hill into downtown Portland, Ore charging the batteries all the way. I think she gets around 35-40 mpg with no recalls plus it is loaded with everything.

I have a 2012 Fusion and really like it. I average 38 mpg. I live in the country and most driving is considered highway, 50 or 55 mph, no lights, etc.
The 2013 has a new engine that gets even better mileage. I have no experience with the new engine.

We have been towing our 2012 Fusion Hybrid for over a year now with no problems at all. Transmission in neural/accessory mode on ignition and drive away. One oil change at 10k for $29.....that has been the only cost. Drives like a more sporty sedan and is very quite on the highway...and no, I don't work for Ford ;)
We chose the hybrid after seeing all of the transmission problems that people were having with the non-hybrid escapes/edge/etc. Plus I feel better averaging my 7-8 mpg on the coach with my 36 avg on the car ;) LOL

Being 6'-3" sedans and I don't get along very well having to crawl down into and climb up out of. We were very happy with out 04 Odessey but after 150,000 of combined miles in 8 years we decided on an upward. We live in the Southwest so when we went to Oregon last year and had repair issue we traded the Old honda on a new CR-V. Hitch pro did all the necessary mods in Eugene, great people! We got about $1,500 more in trade because they looked underneath and saw NO RUST. The people in Bend were great and brought the model we wanted over from Portland. The CR-V is much more solid than recent cars and after 10,000 miles and 8 months there are no rattles, squeaks or wind noise. I'm not fond of the BF Goodrich tires on Oregon asphalt, but they are satisfactorily quiet else where/ Got Discount tire to sell me an extended policy on the tires for $100.00. Seems like I need that policy every time the tires approach 3 years of age on any follow behind vehicle. The CR-V gets between 29 and 32 on the road. It's the All wheel drive model. That's all they sell in Oregon. We get around 25 mpg around town and as low as 21 climbing up and down hills is slow commuter traffic. The Car handles well, they lowered the rear deck 4 inches from 2011 year which makes loading and unloading Carol's scooter easier. We do miss the third seat when we are attending RV rallies, but the rest of time we are OK. Being 1200 to 1500 lbs lighter seems to help the Intrigue with fuel milage, but haven't noticed any gain in acceleration. Didn't need the sun roof but like the back up camera feature. The 4 cyl engine isn't as peppy as the 6 was, but does a respectable job. I still miss my 427 I had one time! But 10 mpg doesn't work today.
