Battery/power issue

Owners,

In the 1st week of a 3 month trip and have an electrical/battery issue that many of you may understand better than I do. Here is what I am experiencing: while traveling down the road my dash battery light starting flickering (red indicator) and after a few minutes I suddenly seemed to lose all power, and my gauges all stopped functioning for 5 seconds or so. Then the light went out and everything returned to normal. This occurred twice yesterday (I am now camping for a few nights) but the red dash gauge flickered several times.
I checked my fuses and everything seems normal, is there something else i should check or be aware of? Thank you for any help you can provide.

I just went through a similar experience. Mine turned out to be the solenoid just below the fuse run in the bay under the drivers feet. Kind of hard to get to the connections but when I was out in the midle of nowere and with not a tech in sight I managed to do the job. Took the old solenoid out and took it to Napa and got a replacement.

OK, the only similar experience I have had was the total loss of all power, gauges, literally everything. This might happen for 5 seconds or more, then magically go away. The battery light goes on when the voltage drops below maybe 11.5 volts.
Fortunately when this happened to me (I was driving down the road at 60 MPH) I thought to press the boost start button and magically dash lights, gauges, engine power all returned. Let off on the switch and back to no power.
I started the generator to fire the solenoid without requiring my finger on the boost switch. Drove the rest of the afternoon with genny running and all well.
Next morning, no start w/o boost switch. Problem was a cracked battery lug on the chassis battery. No chassis battery...no engine, gauges. Etc. Fire the boost and the coach battery takes over.
Made sense...

I am in the middle of a similar process of trying to fix a one to two second loss of electrical power. While driving down the road, both the tachometer and speedometer go to zero, a buzzer briefly sounds and then both instruments and the engine resume normal operation. I thought that I had a battery problem and replaced my 6+ year old engine batteries. The problem remained. Then I spoke to Gregg (engine/frame-parts dept.) at Country Coach. He is sending me a replacement solenoid. This solenoid is inline with the ignition key, starter and engine. He immediately recommended replacement of this part when I describe the situation to him. The solenoid should arrive this Friday. The small, gray, solenoid is located in the electrical fuse box which is directly below the driver's chair. It looks like it will be easy to replace. Not sure when I will get a chance to test out the coach since this problem occurs maybe once every other day when driving long distances.
Give Gregg a call at Country Coach. I ordered the part from them for about $80.00----delivered. I probably could have payed less by hunting around for the part, but I wanted to insure that I got the correct part and felt CC deserved a few extra dollars for their assistance.
