2008 Inspire with c-9 cat engine and a cat transmission.

Has anyone had experience with a cat transmission. I'm told they are very similar to the Allison. I've never heard of a cat tranny in a motorhome.

I'm pretty sure CC used the Cat tranny in their short lived Rhapsody. I was at CC in 07 or 08 and a demo Rhapsody was towed in due to a tranny failure. Thats the only motorhome I've heard of it being used in.

The Cat transmission when initially used in the 2006 Intrigue, and when taken to Lexington for the RV show was found to be to noisy, they had to return to using the Allison until the gear teeth where they meshed could be redesigned, is another case I heard about. Ask Dave Remington at OMC, he was there when it all happened.

our 2008 Inspire Founders Edition with the tag axle has the C9 with 425 HP/1350 torque and the Cat transmission and both perform flawlessly. The best part is that the whole thing is guaranteed by Caterpillar for 5 years/200K miles *from the date it first hit the road*. For our coach that was 2010 so my factory warranty is good until 2015 and Cat has serviced the engine twice under warranty

My 08 Magna was ordered with a triple CAT C 15 625 hp 2000 torque @ 1200 rpm CAT 6 speed tranny
CAT Radiator

5 year warranty, the tranny shifts great and smooth, shifts in 6th gear at 50 mph, with Jeep GC in tow I noticed 7,4 mpG last 20k miles

I own a 2009 Veranda 300 (Inspire) and it has a CAT C-9s engine and a CAT transmission. Right now I am having problems manually shifting gear but the combination has been quiet and reliable. I am going to having the shifting issue looked at while in Tucson at Premier Coach works getting other issues looked at.
