Yamaha Home Theater System

The Allure has the Yamaha receiver in the forward entertainment center. Works great except when I try to increase the volume above a certain level, the units shuts off. Looking at the troubleshooting section of the manual, I have checked all the speaker wires for shorts (found none). I have made sure the speaker impedance is set correctly (8 ohms).
This is not a show-stopper since I suspect we won't use it often. However, I'd like for it to work. Any suggestions are appreciated.
