Water on floor around toilet

I have a SeaLand Traveler Toilet in my 2000 Intrigue. I am finding the floor wet around the base of the toilet. I took all the surrounding shrouding off and checked everything, it is not leaking from the valve, or, as far as I can see, any hoses. It does not leak when flushed, it seems to dribble out afterwords slowly. It has been leaking for a while, the wood paneling is wet all around the bottom, and it is starting to smell in there. Any advice?

Al, our 2002 Intrigue recently had a similar problem and it turned out to be the valve in the pedal system. I replaced that valve (part around $35) and all is well. We spend a bit of time in southern California where Ardemco Marine in Costa Mesa is conveniently located for Sealand toilet parts (949-631-1814 or 800-253-0115). The parts package contains a blow-up diagram so you can see how it all comes apart and goes back together. You have to disconnect 2 hoses from the back of the valve and the rest of the disassembly and reassembly is a piece of cake.

Sounds like it could be the vacuum breaker (located between the supply line and the toilet) leaking. We have the same model toilet and had a similar situation a couple years ago - no apparent leak except shortly after flushing when there was a small dribble from high on the back of the bowl where the seat mounts. The vacuum breaker plugs into the back of the toilet in that area with a big rubber grommet. Not hard to change - just awkward to get at. Part was about $35.

Tom: Thank you, thank you! I am sure that is it! The water dribbles out from that spot after a flush (intermittently - It is now not leaking at all!), so I am sure that is the problem. How in the world do you get that thing out? I reached around back there and pulled and fooled with it, but I can't get it out.

The vacuum breaker mechanism is just pressed into the rubber grommet. I recall it was pretty tight and very close working quarters. If you slip a small mirror behind the top of the toilet you should be able to see how it all fits together.
It may be easier to remove if you disconnect the (low pressure) supply hose at the vacuum breaker. Mine is just secured with a spring clamp that can be removed with a pair of pliers. Then you have a bit more freedom of movement.

I had the same problem and had to replace the seal between the toilet and floor. Fixed my problem. Replace the ball and seal inside the Traveler toilet while I had it out.
