Simi Valley CA- Reagan Library

Hi group,

Does anyone have experience going to the Reagan Library? How about a park within 10-15 miles? And has anyone parked the coach on Presidential Drive.. as the parking lot is for cars only. Would one have to arrive early?

HI Russ There is one in Ventura (Ventura Beach RV Resort) which is about 20 miles from Simi It is a nice park, a little pricey and 1 mile from the ocean.I have seen Rv's parked at Walmart, which is 2 miles down the road!! If you are interested!! I have dry camped many times on the ocean. As to parking lot at the Library I can not tell you of RV parking but only that it is spacious and you could park at a far end, if allowed. I live In Thousand Oaks which is next to Simi so if you are interested in me providing anything else, let me know.

When you get off the exit for the Reagan Library there is a county park close by. Its nothing fancy but you have water and electric hookups. We go to meetings out there every year and that's where we stay. Its called Oak Park. Its off exit 22 from Route 118. Not far from the Reagan Library. Here is the website portal.countyofventura.org/.../inland_parks/oak_park

Thanks Fritz - Has anyone that has visited the library seen coaches parked along the road outside the gate? We are traveling with a 4 legged 'kid' and are not comfortable with leaving him for an extended time 20 plus miles away.
Love to park close- so as to 'keep an eye on him' while visiting.

On my many visits to the Library I have not noticed any RV's parked on Presidential Drive but according to there website it is allowed. The drive is at least 1/4 mile long so there should be penny of spaces. I guess it would be best to call them to variety.
