Day/Nights to MCD Questions 03 Intrigue

Think I am going to bite the bullet and change out the day/night shades in my 03 Intrigue for MCD Duos -- manual shades on side windows only. I am eyeing having it done at Apache RV in Las Vegas. I am looking for some input from those that may have made this change.

It looks like the shade bracket is about 2 inches wide and that is just about all the room I seem to have between the window frame and valance inners. Has anyone had a problem with what appears will be a somewhat snug fit?

MCD says the height of the brackets and full rolls is 4 inches. My valances are slightly scalloped and range from about 3 3/4 to 4 1/2 inches in height. Will these valance heights work ok?

How are your shades arranged -- both pulls to inside, both pulls to outside, one in and and one out (and which)?

Seems to me that the old day/nights can come out and MCDs installed without having to remove the valances?

Any other advice and counsel you would give.

Lots of experience installing MCD shades as my shop is a preferred install shop for MCD. Most of the time these shades install easily, I figure 1/2hr per shade as an average. Every once in a while we have to modify the window box because of lack of room, not enough depth. Now there are many ways to skin the cat, but I'd say the most common way is to shim the box off the wall to get the required space. If the box is wrapped with fabric, you can either pull the fabric loose, add the shim (usually 1/2" plywood) and pull the fabric over and re-attach. Another way is to build the shim and wrap that with a contrasting fabric.
As for which way to have the fabric roll off the roller on the shade, always try to have the day shade (solar screen) as close to the window as possible. So we always try to have the day shade roll off the back towards the window and usually the same direction for the night shade - off the back of the roller. They (MCD) have different options for shade roll, get one of these sheets and make the best choice for each window. FYI roll spec A is the most common.
For the top of the valance, being scalloped, you'll typically see some of the night shade. So if the center of the box has 5" and curves up to 3" you'll see around 2" of the night shade when it's up.
