Amana residential fridge question.

For anyone with a CC of my vintage with the Amana side-by-side fridge, has anyone had to replace theirs? Mine seems to be struggling to cool as well as it has previously and curious if I do need to replace it, will it fit thru the entry door with fridge doors removed??

Gary, I have the Amana like yours, not a problem in about 5yrs, I do vacuum out the vents often, usually these fridgs last many years, without repair.

Not sure if it will pass thro the door. good luck

As posted have you cleaned the cooling fins under the fridge when they get covered with dust the cooling goes down hill just like the cooling of your radiator. We have something like this at home.
Amazon.com: refrigerator cleaning brush We just had the Samsung 197 installed and they went through the side window moved the table removed valance then removed the window all in about 30min out with the old No-Cold and in with the new.
Most will go through the door if you move the seats and the doors on the fridge, Floyd 2006 Inspire 51744

Gary. I have an 06 intrigue 12047 with an Amana fridge which has never been off since Nov 14 2005 when I picked it up at the factory which was at the suggestion of the CC rep Once the fridge is turned on it should be left on as in a home which may be why Amana does Not warrantee RV installations sorry to hear of your trouble

Folks, thanks for the suggestions. We did vacuum (as best we could) the coils under the fridge. I will need to fashion some sort of longer, thinner nozzle for the vacuum to really reach all of it better. Also, we do leave the fridge on all the time since we have 50 amp shore power at home. We did recently have the coach in a shop for about 10 days for inverter replacement and the fridge was empty and shut off.


I believe I have discovered my issue. The two 'vents' which allow cold air from the freezer to pass thru to the 'beverage cooler' bins on the fridge door were shut. I am not sure how that happened. Now that I have opened them fully, it seems to be getting back to our desired temp of about 37F. At least the temp which hovered around 42F, was down to 39F about two hours after I adjusted those vents.

I had my fridge serviced a couple of years ago. They added a can or two of R134a and some leak detector. Seems to still be running fine.
