towing mini cooper AWD 4 down

There were some comments about towing Mini Coopers before but I don't think any addressed the All Wheel Drive versions. The local dealer says no to towing any Mini 4 wheels down, auto or stick and especially AWD.

I have not seen an owners manual so wondering if the group has any ideas.
