I just picked up my RV after winterizing and the camera is dark. I have the original Panasonic flip up monitor. The radio controls display fine so it is not the display. When driving in the dark .I can barely see the headlights in the monitor. Is the solution a new camera, it has never been an issue before. Is the camera accessible through the upper cabinets in the bedroom?

We replaced the camera in our 2000 Magna which was the Panasonic flip type monitor. It is accessible from the center of the rear over the bed behind the mirror. However, the new camera required changing the molded eye on the rear of the coach. We did this to avoid the expense of a totally new system, however I would guess whatever system you replaced the camera with would require this. I would suggest doing it at Country Coach or somewhere where the body work and required paint work could be completed.

I replaced ours with a color bullet camera from an electronic store. Took the housing of the bullet and made it fit the old housing. The old unit was easily accessible from inside the coach. Hardest part was removing the old camera from the housing, had to preform some surgery, all done from inside.
We had several spare wires in the bundle and made it work. Cost under $100 1998 Allure

There may be a simpler fix for the condition you describe.
We too have the Panasonic system. The camera display occasionally goes black as you describe. In the past, this problem has always been corrected by simply disconnecting and reconnecting the camera cable connector located behind the access panel in the rear closet.

When the connector is disconnected, clean or replace connector, but prior to connecting, coat the parts with a dielectric grease. Did mine a year ago and eliminated the problem.
