HWH slide problem

Yahoo Message Number: 92895
Midway on our trip from Central OR to NC (NASCAR shops) we encountered problems extending the slide on our 2000 Magna. It required several attempts to open the slide. The condition got worse until we arrived at our park in Brenda AZ, at which time the slide would not open at all. When the "extend" button was pushed, the motor and pump would activate, but no movement.
A call to HWH indicated a technician would call me back in 2-3 weeks.
Knowing that the motor and pump were working, it appeared the solenoid might be bad. In checking the extend solenoid while the button was pushed, no power was present. The next check was to jump the extend terminal on the switch to 12V. The slide immediately extended . I found the switch to have 6 terminals, and while the pump was activated when the extend side was pushed, the terminal that activated the soenoid did not. A new switch from HWH solved the problem.
Special thanks to Jim and Vern from Oregon Motor Coach for suggestions on the slide and an over the road heater problem.
Thanks also to Kevin Waite from K&M Mobile R.V. Repair for right on info. re. the windhield washer hose access.
