Dust Storm-Fan Controller

Yahoo Message Number: 92986
Does anyone know of a shop in Tucson I can rely on to fix the fan controller in my 2002 Allure (30747)? The "dust storm" has risen again. Last time I had it worked on was at Colton's in CA. Don't really want to travel that far.

Thanks,

Gary '02 Allure 30747

Leaving JC last month my controller quit on me while heading south to San Diego. I unplugged the controller and proceeded south with the fan on the default high. After about a half hour, I stopped and with electrical spray can cleaner cleaned the connections and applied dialectic greased and plugged it back together. 1200 miles later everything is good.
Colton is a good shop and very experienced with the controller issue. It is also one of the few shops that actually tries to keep the units in stock. I am a BIG fan of Eric's group in Tucson but they are not an engine shop. I would be looking for a CAT or Cummings shop with experience working with the fan controller.

I spoke with Eric on the subject o fan controllers last month. He is very knowledgeable and I would trust him to handle that replacement. It really is a pretty simple project. I did my replacement on the controller in 15 minutes. It was my fourth controller on two coaches over ten years.

The fan controllers come from the factory programmed. No need, or ability to do it on site. They can only be programmed using a very expensive infrared input device.

Thanks to all who responded. Will be heading to Tucson shortly. Really hate this dust storm thing. Is Country Coach the only units that have this problem? Have never noticed it in others in my internet lurking.
Thanks again folks and Happy Healthy Holidays to all.

We are not alone with this problem. Many side radiator SOBs have the same issue.

Gary Source engineering has a thermal valve (tvck-101) replaces all the existing electronics. Works on cat or cummins. Google Source engenering or 541 935 0308. Good luck and Merry Christmas Rex11543
