Need to increase breaker amperage fro 15 to 20.

My 2007 CC Tribute 260 has all AC outlets on only one circuit. (Dumb, Right?) I bought a Dyson Heater & now I have to turn it off to make coffee. Do you folks agree with me that it is safe to increase the breaker size from 15 to 20 Amps? Of not safe, please teach me why. Thanks.

NO! I build fiberglass fishing boats for a living and can tell you the wiring that they use is only designed for 15 amp no more. If you but a larger breaker in, the wiring becomes the fuse, when the fuse "pops" the wire catches fire. ALSO As it happens I have a Dyson sales and service center (go figure). The dyson AM04 and Dyson AM05 HOT fan uses 1500 watts. Most coffee machines use 1500 watts. If you have 110 volt power supply and are using 1500 watts, that is pulling a little over 13 amps on that circuit. So if you have both running at the same time would pull about 27 amp thus risking burning up the wires and causing a fire before the 30 amp breaker can trip.

SOLUTION:

In my rv, I have an additional cord that i run through the basement. I hook it up to the extra 20 amp outlet on the RV power pedestal. (not used because my coach hooks up to the 50 amp) and brew coffee outside. If on the road or dry docking, you should be able to find another outlet to hook up coffee pot to inside rv on a different circuit.
You should have more than one circuit inside RV. My wife lives part time in a goose neck and we found that the bedroom, microwave and living room/ kitchen are on 3 separate circuits. (found this out same way, tried to make coffee and run a Dyson AM05 at the same time. What size is your generator? Even a 6K watt should be able to run 2 coffee pots and 2 hot fans.
Please email me if you need anything additional or if you Need a Dyson Handheld vacuum for your RV!

Not safe, and a 20 amp still might not cover the load.
15 amp breaker means #14 wire typically NM-B romex type. 15 amp breaker has a calculated ampacity of 80% or 12 amps.
I dont know your specifications of your heater but they typically pull around the 12 amps on high.
In order to replace the 15 amp with a 20 you need to replace the conductors with a #12.
I am certain an insurance investigation after a fire would discover the incorrect breaker size. More importantly the possible loss of life.
When winter hits our residential service calls double due to this problem.
There is a possibility of adding a circuit just for you heater, not familiar with your rig.

Because the wiring is sized for 15 amp and not 20.

This is what I did on my 03 Alpenlite 5er. I cut a hole in the wall next to the vacuum outlet and installed a house plug outlet. Then I got 25' of 30A number 10 wire little hard to work with but no voltage drop I wired a one end to the plug then ran one about 5' and installed a female plug then I had about 20' left put male and female ends on then plug into the camp ground pedestal. Now if I need the heater I can run it on high 1500W and it's not running through the 5er that way I can run the micro and coffee pot at the same time. Then when i'm home in the winter I use the same plug setup to run the heater and have all the power turned off to the 5er, why have the inverter-converter running all the time. Turn the power on every 2mo just to put a charge into the batteries for a short time. My 5er had a 30A service.
This is what I will be doing to my CC but will be leaving the inverter on because we use the Samsung 197 RR a lot. Get the power use off off your coach to a dedicated power line.

Correction (on the 5' line I installed a male plug and on the 20' I installed a male and female on the ends) That way when it is safe to plug any of the ends into power.

On my Magna, Just about everything is on 20 amp breakers, including the GFCI to which most of the outlets are connected, as well as feed through the inverter. Must have heavier wiring than your Tribute. When I run two electric heaters, I have the second one plugged into the washing machine outlet which is on its own 20 amp breaker.

We also have a Tribute and all the plugs are on one 15 amp breaker. (don't understand it either)

don't recommend increasing the breaker size.
We tap off the 30 amp breaker for the rear AC unit and installed a duplex gfri outlet directly below the panel near the floor. It is our designate heater outlet- use it in the winter for heaters only- our rear ac unit does not have a heat pump. Works great and can run two heater off the same outlet and it free up the other outlets on the 15 amp circuit. contact me if more info is needed
