Tecma toilet sensor stuck on red

Guessing my sensor is not working right, holding tank is empty, but the red light on flush button stays on. Have flushed the tank a couple of times from outside flush outlet. Anyone have other ideas on a fix. We do use the toilet using the over ride of holding the large flush button for 8 seconds which works fine?

Mike, I have the same toilet and have had the same issue. The fluids sensing mechanism needs to stabilize to the most current situation before if will reset to the normal color sequence. The only PITA is having to hold the button down the 8 seconds meantime. Once you are parked and the holding tank is mostly empty it will reset after a few uses. If you use it mid-day on a drive day it will likely revert to the red mode, but once again, a day or so without moving and it will rest to normal. That has been my experience anyway.

Mike,

These Tecma toilets are great I also have 2 on my boat. The sensors are on the outside of the tank but do seem more prone to spurious output than my Seelevel display which gives me %. I can often get the amber light remaining on after dumping. I have found that a serious clean out (multiple fresh water fills and a drive around) helps return the sensor to more accurate readings. I assume a small amount of debris clinging to the tank wall can create a wrong reading. You would need to fill the tank with fresh water quite high to clear from the top part of the tank where the red sensor element resides. Perhaps following the Seelevel and dumping say before 80% in the future would help reduce the risk of this happening?

I don't have the same toilet but my system uses Seelevel1 sensors. Replaced the black tank sensor to no avail.
Tried something I had heard about but never did. With the tank ½ full or so I dumped 40 pounds of ice down the toilet and drove 100 miles and it cleared it up. Saw several large chunks go by when looking at the inspection pipe in the sewer hose.
While talking to the mechanics they showed me the flush device which to my surprise was pretty chintzy, just a head inside the side of the tank with a few holes. I had tried using it several times to clean the buildup but it was ineffective. Next time I am there we are going to drill an one inch hole in the side of the tank and put a plug in it. With the plug out I can stick the nozzle of a pressure cleaner inside the tank and really clean it.
