HWH Perplexing Issue!!

I have/had a problem with the HWH leveling the was/is very perplexing. A little history. I posted on an electronic throttle problem that held the motor at 30% power after coming to a stop (very intermittent), sometimes once a month or less. King control said that the throttle was getting a brake switch command for a depressed brake. The could be a sticking brake switch of possible a sticking brake valve. I replaced the brake switches and connected the electronic throttle as to make it easy(ier) to disconnect. I also decided to bring a light to dash that is connected to the brake switch so I could tell if the brake switch was telling the throttle to cut back. I brought a wire to the lamp from the brake switch to the dash and decided to find a ground behind the dashboard. There was a green wire marked ground that connected to the oil pressure gauge.

Here is the unexplained issue, when I stepped on the brake the light did not come on and my HWH control panel went "nuts". A bunch of green lights came on and a batter symbol lit up (in green) and nothing worked. I could touch the wires next to the control panel (right turn signal light) then everything worked. I could move the flex going to the control panel and the same thing happened. I was very perplexed. I tried putting the the transmission in gear, messing with the emergency brake etc etc, nada. I thought maybe I nicked a wire under the transmission shift plate, checked those and then moved them around nada again. Wife suggested (her answer to all technical problems), shut it down, go have a beer and come back later. Did that came back in about 10 minutes and everything worked normally The big "Don't Know" is why the the brake light indicator didn't work. Connected it to a different ground (screw in the chassis) and it works fine. I've buttoned things up so probably not going to pursue this!! Not sure if I'm expecting any comments but I hate it when I can't figure out what's going on!!!!

PS found a much less expensive brake light switch at NAPA, good thing because I replace two of them (wired in parallel), inputs from different air sources.
