Magnum inverter upgrade

Hello all,

Our Freedom 458-20D is not working properly, putting out between 98-106 volts at the outlets when unplugged from shore power & using only the inverter. We have decided to upgrade to a Magnum MS-2012 series inverter. Our 458 has the 2 breakers on the unit, so will that limit us to the MS-2012-20B 2000 watt that also has the 2 breakers?

Or would it be possible to get the MS-2812 2800 watt inverter, so that we can add more batteries to our system down the road? We currently have 2, 8D Lifeline AGM house batteries that are 1.5 years old. We are not sure how much dry camping we will be doing, but definitely some.

Also, we decided on the PSW inverter because we have lots of sensitive tech stuff on board. We have a residential fridge and we full-time, in case that is important in the equation. If we went with the 2800 watt inverter that does not have the breakers on the unit, would the house breaker panel in the bedroom suffice, or do I need to add another sub-panel? Or is this set-up complicated and a bad idea?

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Susie

Well, we decided to go with the Magnum MS-2012-20B. We also got the ARC-50 remote and the BMK battery monitor. So I guess we answered our own question...

Happy Father's Day & have a great weekend.
