Norcold recall

I don't suppose the problems mentioned are with a Norcold fridge since I haven't seen any in CCI models, but if anyone has one, check Norcold site under the "recall" highlighted icon.
There are a lot of units involved and replacement of the cooling unit is the fix.
My son has a Holiday Rambler gas chassis, 2001 model with a Norcold that received a new cooling unit.

Larry, I know of one member of our group, Arkansas Travelers, whose Dynasty burned to the ground as the result of a faulty Norcold refrigerator, and I personally put out a fire in the Norcold refr. in a Holiday Rambler belonging to another member. The scary thing is I saw Norcolds in 04 Allures and I believe in Intrigues.

You might want to be sure your Nocold is included in the recall. I thought mine was in the recall using the serial number on the inside of the refrigerator. After talking with a Nocold representative I was directed to go outside and retrieve the number off the silver canister located in the outside compartment of the refrigerator.
My serial number inside the refrigerator seemed to include my Nocold in the recall, however, the number on the silver canister outside is the number used for the recall. This number is different from the one on inside the refrigerator. The number I found was not included in the recall.

Hope this helps and is easy to check against the recall list on the Nocold website.

Took many times longer for them to get the part than it took ( 1 1/2 hour) to do the fix.

Just had the latest Norcold recall done on our fridge. The good news is that Norcold has now decided to pick up the cost of a house call, in my case $40. When I ordered the recall done about 7-8 days ago, they told me they (Norcold) would provide the recall kit, and labor only if the work was done at the approved repair facility. Not wishing to go to the designated repair facility, I agreed to pay the $40 housecall from Al's RV here in Yuma. When the technician came to make the modification, he advised me that Norcold was now picking up the total cost of the recall. Took around 30-35 min. and mostly done from outside the coach.

All in all, a pretty painless operation.

Great post, Jim. My coach has the recall and is at Premier Storage in Yummy, while we are south in San Felipe. That will save lots of aggravation to have Al's RV do the repairs in the storage unit.

I just called Norcold, because your coach is a 2007,and I vented my fustration with conflicting or lack of information concerning the recall, Norcord said that now all 1200 series are on the recall list, so I called Als RV because we are at YPG in Yuma and ordered the kit and they will schedule the repair . Thanks to your post I am no longer confused or frustrated with this Norcold mess .

Were in Yuma, Several of my friends are waiting in the recall Recall! One is at RV World now. Other's in the Foothills, Same fridge but SOB's, Please keep us posted! Our friends have been told to turn off till Parts arrive! Also Al's doing foothill repair's and for FREE!!! Ken 99 Allure 30356

There are several units here at YPG in Yuma that are awaiting Al's RV to order and install the recall parts and when I spoke to Al's RV they confirmed that Norcold was picking up the tab for parts and service call
