No chip but I have been happy with the cleanable K&N filter and Aero muffler.

Lee, I have a Cummins ISL 400 that I've run the AFE Oiled Air Filter for 10 years, I've replaced the filter once and I clean it approx. every 15,000 mi. I may have gained a couple of tenths in MPG. But in Jan. this year I purchased a Dynaflex Muffler that had one 4" Baffle in it. I drilled out 66% of the Baffle and didn't hear any increased decibel loudness, but have gained 1/2 MPG. Now wished I'd drilled the entire 4" Baffle OUT.

Mike, sounds good. For reference, what is the weight of your coach, and what was you before MPG and what is it now. Also, how many miles at the higher mileage?

Lee,

Coach only weight 35,000 lbs , Tow Car Honda 3,200 Lbs. Total miles on coach 133,000. Through 128,000 avg. was 8.0 mpg, since Feb. 1, 2014 after muffler change have driven 5,000 miles averaging 8.6 mpg.

Others I've talked with had taken their muffler off and replaced with a "Free Flow Resonator", I would have down this but couldn't find one with the physical dimensions I needed so I semi-replicated buy the Dynaflex muffler and drilling out 2/3 of the 4" dia. Baffle.

Thanks Mike, nice improvement. I had the ISL400 in my former Monaco Diplomat of about the same weight. When I traded it in I was pushing 9.0 MPG so the numbers match.

Can not really comment on the mileage issue. I made the changes because the C-9 400 was such a dog climbing western mountains. It is probably fine in a single axle 40 footer but not with the added weight of the tag axle 40 footers.

I am now in Colorado and the big thing I found is that passes I was pulling at 25 mph now I routinely pull at 35 mph. It is more a seat of the pants feel but I am very happy with the result. The old muffler on the Allurer was a heavy constricted anchor.
