Yellowstone Camping at Fishing Bridge

Has anyone camped at Fishing Bridge RV park in a longer than 40 foot rig? The website says 40 foot max but I was wondering if that is really a restriction or not.

Thanks

I camped there last year. I have a 36' pulling a toad. I camped with a friend who has as 40', he was also pulling a toad. You could probably make it with a 42' but I doubt any longer. I think the park is pretty strict about their 40' rule.

We just left there and did not camp there. The sites are very tight.
If you want an alternative, we stayed at Yellowstone Valley Inn RV Park about 32 miles from the East Entrance and drove our toad into the park.

Doesn't matter how tight the spaces are, you spend your time touring the park. Nothing like being in the park and saving that tripe every day.

Spent three weeks at Fishing Bridge with three feet of snow on the ground and wouldn't have done it any other way.

George brings up good point that applies to all the parks. If YOU want to be in the park nothing else will do and you probably can make it work.

If you don't mind dry camping, you could stay in Eagle River National Forest Campground (within the Shoshone National Forest on the east side of Yellowstone National Park). It is on Hwy 20, 7 miles from the East Entrance Gate into Yellowstone. Also Rex Hale Campground which has more amenities than Eagle Creek and can accommodate a larger rig EVEN THOUGH the official size restriction says it can not take more than (sometimes less than) a 40ft RV. We stayed at Eagle Creek and have a 42 ft Intrigue.
We drove our toad in the East Entrance each day which means we had to drive through Sylvan Pass (9,000+ ft) each day to get into see the sights in Yellowstone. Much easier than taking the MH through that pass to camp, but within 7 miles of the gate. Convenient location, nice location and the scenery is fabulious!! Good luck & ENJOY!!
