REPLACE DOMETIC REFRIGERATO # NDR 1492

I have a 2000 ALLURE AND NEED A NEW REF. I would like to know if anyone out there has done this? It is the 2 door side by side one, and set over the the LP Heater, not draws on the bottom.
I would like to get a house hold one, Like the Samsung's RF 197 ACBP18 CU. FT. IF? You have, what did you have to do to get it to fit?? If not this one what did you use? (I need any help anyone can give me!!) Thanks DMG 2OOO ALLURE # 30498

I installed a Samsung RF 197 ACRS this week and started it up yesterday.
There are several links on the forum on how to install it.
An excellent description is available on http://moenracing.com/samsung/.
You need to see if the fridge will fit in your opening. My Norcold 1200 opening is 32.75"? wide, 25"? deep and 69.75"? tall. Both sides of the fridge case have a 3/8"? space and I took the front wheels off the fridge to get about 1/16"? clearance between the top of the doors when they are opened to the fluorescent light. I had to shim the back wheels up 1/16"? to get it level. I sealed the top vent and insulated it. I sealed the removable back vent and will insulate it too.
I bought mine from Best Buy for $999 and got it delivered on Monday.
My old fridge is in perfect condition except it did not always cool very well in the refrigerator space when on propane. It would still make ice.
I did not find any charring on the coach woodwork behind the fridge.

We replaced our side by side Dometic with the top freezer Frigidaire model FFHT1513PSO. It was the largest unit I found to fit in the old space. I believe we have the same layout with the furnace below fridge with no drawers. We could not get the Samsung 197 in without major mods. We have been very happy with this fridge and there is a lot more room in it than the Dometic. We did not add the ice maker for extra freezer space. Let me know if you'd like me to try and post pictures.

This would also be the time to replace the shower faucet if at all needed because the fridge needs to be pulled for access.

First time adding pics, I hope they go through ok. We had the work done at Fountain RV in Lakeland, FL. They did a fantastic job. The drivers side window & seat had to be removed to get the unit in. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I forgot to mention that we added the door handles later on. They also filled in the gap from the wider Dometic on the side with an almost 5 inch piece of matching oak.

We also put a small rubber stopper on the opposite pantry counter, because the door doesn't clear open all the way. One other tip is to have the shelves in the new fridge adjusted to your satisfaction before having the unit installed, due to the door clearance.

My apologies, the fridge is usually stocked with beer/wine...

They look great !! The only thing that may not work for me is IF? The door will hit the cabinet on the other side. (Slide in) We are 40 FT and not much room between the refrigerator and the other side.
So how many inch is it with the door open @ 90 degree. Thanks DMG 2000 ALLURE 30498

It looks like the fridge door opens at about 65 degrees from the outside part of the door. That's with our drivers side galley slide either in or out in our 36' coach. The door does not swing open all the way, but gives us plenty of access. The freezer opens all the way because there is no cabinet in the way. This was completed about 6 months ago, but you might have better options available now. Feel free to give me a ring 786 525 8997.
