Tom, I'm sorry you are having such difficulty with CC in getting a proper fix for your defective door. We have a 2001 32' Allure which we bought new in November 2000. During the warranty period the door was painted a total of FIVE times by CC and the electrolysis problem continued. In June of 2002 - well beyond the warranty period- I approached CC again with the problem and they scheduled the coach for a complete reskinning of the door with fiberglass. Since this was done we have not had any electrolysis showing.
As for getting special treatment, I am net a frequent buyer of CC's.
The coach we have is our first CC and we feel fortunate to have it. I will say that there has been a definite change in warranty administration policy in the past 18 months. As part of working their way out of their financial mess, CC has taken a position if it isn't fixed in the warranty period then there will be no extension of warranty. The only exception would be a recall issue. This is what I have been told by those in management at the factory.

I am a happy CC owner. They aren't perfect but they do try to keep us happy.

I think I might have the electrolysis problem on our door. It looks likes rust bubbles under the paint. Is this the dreaded electrolysis problem? Any feedback is appreciated.

Was looking at an 03 Allure the other day.
Noticed serious blistering under the paint on the bottom moulding around the exterior slide openings.
I thought the blistering was only occuring on the front doors and slide out surfaces.....................

Hi John

It's pretty common on the trim around the slides. I have a 02 Allure and had to have both slides fixed. It was a nightmare. Each one took 2 weeks and we had to be out of the coach for the entire time.

Did you have the electrolysis work done at CC or some other place? I have not had the problem worked on yet but did schedule a trip to Camp CC in Oregon to get it fixed. I did not realize it might take that long nor did I think we would not be able to stay in the coach.

We had one room done at Buddy Gregg in Dallas and the other done at the factory. Both times we were told that it would take 2 days per room and both times it took 2 weeks. I found B G to be far better to work with and the quality much better than the factory but you may find it different. I hear it is hard to get into B G now if you didn't buy the coach from them. (It's a long story but the factory refused to let B G do the other room under warrantee and insisted we come to the factory).

The factory was not good about keeping us informed as to progress, they made several mistakes and they gave it back to us filthy dirty.
B G cleaned it inside and out when they finished. We will not be going back to CC anytime soon.

I'm about to have the electrolysis problem worked on, and wondered if you were able to stay in your coach during the repair process? If not, who paid for the motel bill while you were out? Just curious.

No, we couldn't stay in the rig in either case. Things really get dis-assambled and there is no room in there to live.

CCI did pay the motel bills but I had to ask them to.

We had the electrolysis problem on both our slides repaired at Junction City last May. CC service estimated 1 week for the repair when we called for an appointment, 2 weeks when we arrived, and actually took 3 weeks to complete the work. We had other repairs, so they didn't spend the whole 3 weeks on the electrolysis repair.
We were told we could stay in the coach except for 1 or 2 nights. We actually had to spend 3 nights out. On 1 (or 2?) additional nights the slides had to be left in, but we were able to stay in the coach.

CC did NOT pay for our rooms. You might have better luck if you contact one of the "high-ups" - we simply asked our service writer to request reimbursement and he reported back that the request was turned down.
