Still No Water (Hot)

Yahoo Message Number: 97857
I turned off the city water and it continues as before. The pump comes on when I turn on the cold water at any faucet, but when I turn on the Hot Water side, pump stops and no water from the hot side. The coach has been sitting for about 4 months with no use. Nothing plugged in, just in storage. I opened up the drain for the hot water with the city water on, thinking maybe some type of air blockage. but things did not change nor any water from the system. As most of you know... "It worked the last time, but not now." Just looking for suggestions on where to start looking to see why.

Did water run out of the water heater when you removed the drain plug? If so did the pump run while drain plug was removed?
What I am looking for is water getting to the tank and can it at least pass into it. If above all checks out it may be the checkvalve is stuck on the output side of the tank or the bypass valve is blocked/stuck shut.

Ray,

None to very little water comes out of the hot water valve drain when opened. I do not think water is getting to my Hydro Hot from the incoming water. The water pump does not come on when I open up any faucet or drain valve.

This site might help. Roger Berke is the "guru" in my opinion of Hydro Hot. I believe there is a mixer valve that sometimes sticks.

The mixer valve is usually under the burner motor, but not likely the cause.
Check to see if somehow a valve to the incoming water to the Aquahot got turned off. Sounds like the supply valve got closed.

Mikee,

I know of no hot water supply valve, to turn on or off for the hot water. I screw on the incoming water hose to the inlet in the water service bay, turn on the water at the source and all works. Well now, I have the normal supply of cold water, but no water at all from the hot water side. Do you have any idea where this supply valve is at?

No, I do not.

When you connect the water hose to the coach, that becomes the supply. It goes thru a filter and then to the plumbing in the coach. The water line to the Aquahot should have water as the rest of the system. If not either it is blocked (not likely) or a valve has been turned off. Do you have hot water if you use the pump without being connected to the water hose?

No water at all from any faucet or outlet for hot water only. Cold side is working fine.
So there is a blockage somewhere.
Roger Berke, who has his own web site and knows all about the Hydro-Hot feels that it is the MIXING Valve. Wants me to take some hoses off to see if any water goes through it. NOt sure if you have seen where it is at. But it is not in the best of positions at the Hydro-Hot.
Fun and adventure for me. Thanks for UR help

On my 06 Intrigue, there were a hose or two that went in to the top of the aqua Hot. If I remember correctly, there is a valve involved where they come in or just back from the connection. Sometimes mine would get stuck and I would bang on it, lightly, with a small hammer. The valve would free up and I'd have hot water. It's been several years since I had to do this, so I hope I'm remembering it right.
