New owner - Warranty Purchase?

Brett: Google that warranty company--There is a lot of info on them. You did not provide much info on the coach or your experience with this type of RV, so cannot advise regarding what you should do about a warranty, only tell you what we did about a warranty.
We purchased a warranty on our 2004 40-foot tag-axle Allure when we bought it from a reputable dealer in 2006 because we planned to live in it and because it was not new. Note that your coach is a lot older than our coach was when we purchased it. We never used the warranty, however, but we also did not use the coach as much as we had planned either.
The paint checking that was mentioned in an earlier message is cosmetic close up and not usually visible from a distance. If it exists on your coach, there is not much you can do about it, although there are those who have tried at great expense. Lots of coaches have had the paint problem, including other brands. The PTO and the radiator issues can be fixed, but are costly, even if they do not blow out before you get them replaced. Then, there are the brake mechanisms, bags, hydraulic systems, slides, steering, transmission, inverters, generators, Hydrohot or Aquahot, windshields, foggy windows, etc., etc., all extensively discussed on this forum over the years. I do not know what would be excluded from your warranty...

And some talented people do not purchase warranties because they can fix their own coaches. We knew that we could not. How about you?

Note: If the absorption fridge has not been replaced by a residential unit, I would not sleep in the coach until that is done. Our coach was in our driveway in October 2011 when the four-door Norcold, a product that had been recalled and supposedly fixed three times by then, leaked caustic chemicals, shorting out the underlying wiring, and went up in flames. Until it set the coach on fire, that fridge had not given us a moment of concern, always maintained temp. When a coach burns, the ceiling becomes a broiler, but I digress. We were lucky the coach was not in our garage when it burned and that we were not in it when the chemicals leaked, so I can advise you about insurance--We had Local Replacement Value, and it paid off.

Make sure you understand exactly what is covered and no covered by the policy you buy (if you buy one). Some are "parts listed/parts covered"? and some list what is excluded from coverage. The former are usually cheaper, but then you have to know what a PTO, a CAC, etc. are in advance! I didn't and paid the price with U.S. Warranty.
