1991 Country Coach Concept 36' Gillig chasis

We just purchased this on Friday. We are trying to get the water to run from the holding tank and the water pump just runs. We did find that the culligan filter was clogged and previous owner had cross threaded it. We replaced it. The pump still runs and water pressure is not building in the coach. After 10 min of pump running we do get a trickle out of the bath faucet but then it only lasts a few minutes and stops.

1. For the life of us.....we cannot find the city water inlet. In the water compartment there is only the fill for the fresh holding tank and a female inlet for the sewer flush. We wanted to test the system on city water but cannot figure out where to hook up. We feel ridiculous and frustrated J
2. There is a switch/dial box next to the water pump that the red wires were disconnected. There is no writing on it. We reconnected the wires and this did nothing to resolve our issue. Does anyone know what this box is?
3. We want to test the city water hook up before replacing the pump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are driving it to FL from Colorado and water would be a nice touch J

I had that happen a few times on my 98 allure, but all I had to do was hook up the city water inlet and purge the lines and pump of air which were causing a vapor lock. You could always splice into the outlet of the pump install a T with with a back flow valve as input for city water. Thats how my Intrigue is plumbed too. Oh and on both coaches there was a residential pressure regulator between the T and back flow preventer which keep water from flowing on the ground while dry camping with the pump operating.

Teresa, is it possible the mystery switch/dial box is a thermostat for water tank heat? If wires are disconnected it might indicate failure of some kind or... previous owner didn't know what it was either.
If you're coming to CO, you probably want that water tank heat working. Oops, looks like I got your route backward. That's the best way to winterize your coach--drive south.
I have no idea what something as modern as a '91 looks like but my city water connection is on the underside of the curved fiberglass body panel behind the rear tires (driver's side) and forward of the radiator side panel.

I hope there's something of value in here. Enjoy your "new" coach.

I think that is thermostat for bay heater...includes tank area. That is on my 98 Affinity. It also has a thermostat level setting.

I've got a '92 Concept. Can you post a picture of your water/sewer compartment on the website and let me know when it's up? On my coach as one faces the water/sewer compartment, the water tank fill inlet is at the top of the compartment to the top right of the compartment. The city water attachment is to the left bottom with a pressure gauge in-line before it enters the coach. Again, that's to the bottom left of the compartment. Our Culligan water filter was in the forward passenger cargo bay low on the front wall. Does any of that match your coach? I did have to replace my water pump soon after we purchases the coach about 4 years ago, which was relatively easy to do and only cost about $80 for the pump if my memory serves me right. If I can see a picture of your water/sewer bay, I might be able to tell you what to do. Also, there's some servo valves that you might want to rebuild while you're in that compartment. I found that mine were sticking closed/open, and once actuated would stick in the opposite direction that what I wanted (e.g., I'd open the water drain valve and it would stick open and not close to allow me to refill the tank, or turn of the water fill valve from the city water connection, and it wouldn't close creating a water tank overflow condition until it eventually re-seated.) After the the water drain situation, which thankfully occurred when I was just flipping switches trying to learn what all the coach's switches did, I figured that after 20 years, it was time to rebuild components if I could find the parts to do that. I got the new water pump and found some rebuild o-rings and diaphragms to rebuild the servos. All has been working great for the last couple of years. I'm still hesitant to hit the water drain valve switch unless I've got time to rebuild again before departing on a trip. Do you have the manuals for the coach as mine provide the plumbing line layouts, which did show the city water inlet? Email me off-line if you'd like to compare notes.
