Front drapes. Replace, or MCD Shades...

Yahoo Message Number: 98467
We took down the OEM window shades for cleaning, and let's just say they looked better dirty then after we got done with the cleaning:)!

I know many have gone with the MCD Shades. And if I understand it right, they have both a manual and electronic versions of the same basic shades. One shade for letting daylight in while providing some privacy and UV and heat gain protection. And then the second shade for night out conditions.

As we use an external front window screen, we are already getting some privacy, heat gain and UV blocking.

So we're not opposed to replacing the simple pull pleated drapes for nighttimes duty.

Opinions welcomed on if:
1) Are the cost and effort to change over to manual MCD shades worth it?

2) If we go the pleated drapes replacement, any recommendations on where to get them? Especially would be interested in options that have more insulation value?

TIA, and best to all,

Smitty

Hi Smitty,

Millie in Junction City makes custom curtains. I believe she's done many  Country  Coach's.

We too are exploring options as our Allure curtain is original and shot.
Not sure which way we'll go.
Let us know what you decide.

I just had Millies Draperies in Junction City @ 541-689-0066 make a new from pleated window shade. They made a lot of the CC shades in the past. I gave her the info she required over the phone and they shipped them to me in AZ. They cannot get the exact same material color as in 2005's but came really close.      $450.00 pus shipping.

I also had a new day/night shade for the large window over the dining table. I contacted Jim Cooley @ OMC. He had me take down the current shade and give the numbers on the sticker on the top of the shade. He had the original mfg make exact replacement. The coat was $135.00 including shipping shipped to AZ. direct from Factory.
