Water pressure

Not a new topic, but I don't seem to be able to find the "search" function anymore.... We have cleaned, de-calcified, and finally replaced the the faucet head and line in the kitchen faucet.  Still no water pressure.  I know this has been discussed before, but can't find it.  Any suggestions?

We have great water pressure throughout the rest of the coach, it's just at the kitchen sink. But I will pass this on to my husband.

Hi We had this problem, the issue for us was the inclusion of non-return valves in the faucet heads. I actually replaced the complete unit on my sink, but in the shower I prised out the valve. These are included for water authority requirements, certainly over here in the UK. So the theory is this; if you were using this at home and you accidently dropped the shower hose with head into a dirty unflushed toilet, and the faucet was open, and at the same time there was a major pipe burst nearby, and also coincidently a fire, when the fire guys connected to the mains and started sucking with their pumps, because of the pipe burst the fireman's pump pulled from your house circuit and sucked contaminated water into the main!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the process of trying to improve my shower flow, I came across the non-return valve and was puzzled why it was there. The only conclusion I reached was to prevent shower water returning back into the fresh water supply tank. I left it in, after deciding it did not restrict flow.

The actual term is backflow preventer, it is required in any  faucet where the exit of the faucet could be submerged in waste water, I.e. tub  or shower with hose attachment. They should present no restriction to  forward/normal flow, they function by breaking the vacuum in case of reverse  flow, into the potable water system.

I am a former CC owner (just camp with a pull trailer for a few weeks in summer with grandchildren now) who has spent 40 years working with water and sewage treatment systems. Back flow prevention in RV's is a very important feature. And it's not only prevention of flows from external sources because as you all know these vehicles carry waste water around with them.
Even though you may think that the chance of siphoning waste water into your potable system is remote, the potentially damaging results to your health can be very serious.
If you discover a failure in a check valve, anti-siphon valve or air gap in your systems you are best advised to repair or replace, not remove. These devices, including air gaps on water outlets are necessary to protect your health.

All I can say is that their (non-return valves) removal made a marked difference to my sink and marginally to my shower water flow/pressure. Each has to weigh up the chances of dropping their head units into foul water with all the other prerequisite anomalies in place to ensure it gets sucked back into your system.

Michael for health reasons "foul water" is any water not  exiting the faucet. No backflow is acceptable.

That's kind of like saying that one should weigh one's likelihood of being involved in a head-on accident before deciding to wear seat belts while driving.
 If you had water pressure, and then you didn't, the presence of those devices is not the cause of the change. Rather, it's possible the failure of one of those devices caused the change, and it should be replaced.

Well Tim the point you miss is that the taps, sorry faucets in American, are designed for household pressures, not the drastically reduced pressure induced by the regulator for city water or the lower performance of the water pump. So ANY constriction or restriction is going to impose a loss which would not be noticeable with full household pressures for which they were originally designed. The option I have taken for those concerned for my mortal safety is to replace the kitchen faucet with a model which does not have an extending hose, and therefore no back flow preventer(s). The shower remains the same as I previously described and I just enjoy the better flow and pressure!!
