Door seal for 2004 Allure Seaside

Yahoo Message Number: 99355
We took our RV in for service and told them our door was whistling. They say we need a new door seal. The door isn't made anymore. The RV dealership has been trying to find a seal that will fit. We have been in contact with both Kevin plus the country coach service facility in Oregon. No go yet on finding a door seal. Has anyone else had to replace one for this year and model recently and if so do you know where the door seal was found?

No, but I have had to adjust the door fit a few times over the years.  TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

I don't know if we have the same door.  But I got some 1/8 inch rubber weather stripping about a 1/2' wide and inserted about two foot length behind the existing gasket on the trailing edge of the door from the top down.  Then I pulled in the post that the door locks onto about 3/32 of an inch.  When the coach was knew, Chris Snyder and Eric Olstrum took some harden stick on gutter material you can buy at Camping world and mounted across the top of the door as a conventional gutter strip.  Then the laid a strip on the pillar of the door butted up against the hinge with the cupping of the gutter facing towards the back of the coach.  The only time I have an issue is now is when driving into a strong head wind or 1/4 wind driving over 65 mph for a combined velocity of over 1oo mph on uneven or not so smooth roads.  .  TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

Found this on iRV2.com:

We worked for a few months to get rid of our door noise on a 2004 Allure. To add to what the others have suggested:
-Check to see if the door window has weep holes, if yes, bet the covers for them if missing.
-After years of closing, the doors latches can get out of alignment. A competent repairman can adjust this to make it a snugger closing.
-We added standard 1/4" foam insulation around the door, attached to the door itself, and that helped greatly.
-Yes to the mirror adjustment. I swapped the two headed mirror with three headed units (wanted the top mirror for looking up when backing in). Gog mine from a RV Surplus store that bough much of the Monaco inventory when they closed up shop. This seemed to reduce the whistle from that area.
-While not involved on our coach. We did hear of whistle sound from the windshield gasket area. When we were testing, we blue taped the windscreen on the passenger side. (Sometimes the seals break loose just enough, to allow a small whistle via gaps.)
And yes it was annoying at times. Even now, in just the right cross winds, we get a bit of wind noise. But the combo of the door adjustment, and 1/4" insulation made the difference on our coach.

Best to luck,
Smitty
