Suspension Grunts/Groans

I get sort of a grunt or groan when we travel over dips in the road. If it is wet or raining, all is quiet but when it is dry, I get the noise. If I spray all the suspension bushings I can see/get to with RuGlyde, then noise goes away for a short time.

I suspect the OEM rubber bushings are hard and would like to replace them with urethane bushings. I see many folks use Energy Suspension for those. I can surely replace the front sway bar bushings myself but not sure if anything on the rear is DIY.

Has anyone done this/had this done and, if so, where and at what cost?

Gary, I had the same "suspension groan" on my 04 Allure, but only on the front. There was no load on my sway bar, so after removing the bushing brackets I just propped up the sway bar till I re-assembled the bushings and brackets. I greased mine with Mobile 1 synthetic grease, and no more groan in about five years. My bushings are urethane.

George, Hi, Can I clarify that the new bushings you installed were from Energy Suspension Co. If so do have have the part numbers? I'd sure appreciate receiving.

I did not replace the sway bar bushings. Just greased them. That is all that was needed.

My swaybar bushing mount bolts/nuts kept coming loose, so I used two new locknuts on each side. No more loosening hardware or noise.
