Dash fans keep tripping the breaker

When operating both of my dash fans,  after about 5 minutes, the breaker trips and then will restart after about a minute or two. I removed both fans and they still looked new inside. Good brushes too.  One fan runs a little warmer (89 vs 84),but I can't imagine this would be the problem.  I ran both separately and the breaker didn't trip.  Any Ideas for a solution are appreciated.  TIA Larry, 03 Allure 30856 79K miles.

Is there anything other than the fans that are connected to the breaker? Maybe the breaker itself is defective. Do the fan shafts spin freely? If not, they could require lubrication. Is the voltage at the outlet of the breaker correct? Also, check all connections including grounds to be sure they are clean and bright.

Good questions.  I think they're on their own circuit.  Haven't found the amp rating on the fans yet.  The breaker is 20 Amps.  Thanks.

Can you tell if one fan is running at a different speed from the other?  They should have the same resonant frequency.  If not, they may need to be lubricated after disassembly and cleaning.  Another possibility is one of the fans motor winding may have shorted with another layer drawing more current, but if so the running speeds and resonant frequencies will be different.  I had an issue with with a spade clamp on one wire being corroded  at the fuse box causing excessive current draw, blowing fuses.  I  cleaned the connection  where the corrosion was and replaced the connecting terminal on the wire.  That was over 5 years ago and all is well.  TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

Larry,  I have had 12VDC breakers go bad.  I would start by replacing it.

The fans seem to be running at the same speed.  I did lube the shafts when I had the motors out. I have swapt out the breaker with another one in fuse box.  Maybe I will buy a new one. All connections I have looked at seem ok,  still checking. Thanks for all the ideas.  Larry

Gsander,  that was it!  After acquiring /installing a new 30 amp breaker,  the fans ran for 30 minutes without stopping!  Thanks for the tip! Larry

Hopefully you didn't increase a 20 amp breaker to 30?! I probably missed something but if you did, better rethink that solution.

Nope, it calls for a 30amp. I originally thought it was a 20amp. Thanks for your concern though.  Larry
