Inverter / Batteries dropping and charging to fast

Hi All,

I was bone docking and my batteries alarm went off because we where using the heat.  I never Replaced batteries So I replaced the 3 8d wet batteries.  They are dated as fresh.  When I put the batteries in, I noticed the batteries would drop down to 65% of charge, but after 5 to 10 minutes of ac, it would go back to 100%.  I called the battery place, and we did the water test, and everything was good.  He told me it was a ground.  I cleaned up all the grounds and chassis, and it worked.  Boone docked, and used my Kuregg coffee maker and everything and it stayed at 100%.  WoW great.  On my way back, I noticed my volt Gauge is staying at 12V.  I stopped at a truck stop, and had it check.  ALT is charging and batteries are good.  The man said might be a ground or gauge is bad.
The coach is back to draining the batteries down to 65% with in 20 minutes and nothing on, and with ac back to 100% with in 10 minutes.
Other symptoms are,  When running, the V Gauge show 13.5 to 14 V,  But when I turn the head lights on it drops down to 12.5 .  Turn head lights off, jumps back up to 13.5 - 14 ...
One other clue, If I am on a 30 Amp,  Even with fridge on Propane, and only 1 AC on, it keeps blowing the fuse at some camp ground.  Someone said if the charger thinks one battery is dead it will keep trying to charge and blow the fuse.
I have sanded all grounds,  I open inverter cabinet, and cleaned up the grounds,  There is 2 bars of like a million ground wires and are incapsilated in red gel.
I didnt touch thoughs.

It may very well be a bad battery.if you get load test done that  will pretty much tell you.

Forgot to mention, if it has an internal connection issue that will not  show up on a hydrometer test, but will on a load test.

Add your year and coach model, and if you know it what type of charger/inverter combo. Like Trace RV2012, which was used for many years in the + or - 5 or so years from 2000.

Some chargers have a reset button on the back or side, that may need to be reset. (But, while on AC, you indicate it pops back up pretty quick. So probably involved in this problem.)

Testing at the battery with a multimeter, is the full proof way to take voltage values, especially if you suspect a gauge.

I'll stop here, until you share the year and model. And rest assured, some pretty sharp and experienced people on this group - so guidance will be coming on ways to solving the problem

Ok Good Idea.

I have 2003 Allure 40 Foot tag with a cumin 375 HP .  The converter is by Trace and it is model RC7 GS.  I looked in the book, and I noticed my battery has a cable from the coach chassis to one of the ground wires.  The books say you should not Ground to the Chassis from the battery.  I took it off, and it did the same thing.  So I put it back on..
