Check Valve

Yahoo Message Number: 101076
I think I have a stuck check valve in the water system. When hooked up to city water or when trying to run the water pump, water continues to come out of overflow in the plumbing bay. Any suggestions/

A big hammer. Seriously ..... maybe a careful well placed bump would do the trick.

You probably have the same electrically actuated valves like we do. Every so often they have to be taken apart and cleaned. There is a 1/2 inch piston that gunks up. A gentle cleaning with fine sandpaper works and that frees up the valve. The valves are in with your water pump. Of course, you can always replace them. There are 4 of them, and the last price I got was about $350 each.

I appreciate the CC community because when you need some help you can always find it. I posted yesterday about a drain issue. I received several responses. Both of them were pointing to the Solenoids. And they were right, a sticky Solenoid was the problem.

I was also able to talk to Kevin Waite and Butch Williams about the issue. Butch knew, from experience, exactly what the problem was. The Solenoid (under pressure) wouldn't close. Without pressure applied it appeared to be functioning normally. That's what was so confusing. In the end, we removed the solenoid and put in a manual valve. All fixed.

My thanks to Kevin Waite, Butch Williams and the CC community for their help.

Do you mean those green solenoid valves that operate the water fill and drain etcetera? Those cost $350 each!
