Fridge not cooling in motion

Hi Folks........I need to call on your collective experiences.
A friend of mine just purchased an '01 Intrigue. The dometic fridge cools normally when the coach is stationary, but looses its cool while travelling down the road.
During travel, it is operating on LP. As far as I can tell, the LP does not extinguish during travel.
Is it possible that the flame actually does go out while in motion and then re-ignites once the coach stops? What are your thoughts?

Our '01 Intrigue #11238 has a Dometic RM 1272 which has a "check" light on the control panel which comes on if the flame goes out..

Yeah...........this one does, too. It has never come on. According to some previous posts, it may be a lack of insulation or poor sealing in the rear of the fridge.
I'm relaying all this info to my buddy to check out"‹.
I'll let the group know what he finds.

Your refrigerator has electronic ignition. If wind is getting into the burner area when driving it is quite possible that the flame is going out repeatedly but will be on when you stop. There was a wind baffle that fits around the burner area that was a retrofit in some of the older Dometics that solves this problem. I have never heard of this sealing issue and I'm not sure whether they are referring to the way the refrigerator is sealed into the coach or the way the cooling unit is sealed into the refrigerator.

Rich.......My high school buddy and I drove the coach home to Mich. from Mesa, AZ. where he purchased it.
The RV dealer had replaced the cooling unit 1 year ago.
I'm also unclear what to expect if we pull the unit out, having never done so.
I posed that question to Mikee, who has a very broad knowledge base in many areas of these coaches, but I haven't heard anything back yet.
The new owner lives in a fairly remote area of Mich. with no knowledgable resources readily available to deal advise.

When the cooling unit was replaced it most likely was not sealed correctly.  The cooling unit needs to be basically removed and reinstalled. You need to use  the correct thermal mastic and be sure you apply it correctly.

Here is a link to a video to watch.

Good luck and have fun.

Mikee, I would have thought that sun improperly sealed cooling unit would cause problems even when stationary.
