LP

Yahoo Message Number: 101449
As I have been busy getting my 2006 Allure 430 ready for our initial trip, I have been thinking about the LP system in the coach. It seems from my limited point of view, that the 39 gallon LP tank in my coach is not terribly useful. I have Hydro Heat and Gold Heat for the domestic hot water and radiant floor heating. I believe that the hydro heat provides general air-flow heat - is that correct (question 1)? If it is correct, then the only system left that needs LP is the stovetop. If that is the case, then (question 2), why not consider an induction stovetop, jettion the LP system and gain another storage area?

Thanks for all of your help.

Do you need propane for your refrigerator or is it 110 V only? Daron Hairabedian, 98 Allure 30226

We entertained the same thoughts regarding LP and decided to do away with it. Because we wanted a 2 burner residential (240) cooktop, we checked with the techs at Oregon Motorcoach first. They determined they would be able to install the residential cooktop. We ordered our 2 burner induction cooktop and had it delivered to OMC. They did the install and it works perfectly. If we want to cook or heat something on the cooktop when not hooked up to 50 Amp power, we do have to run the generator, but because we don't boondock, we don't find that to be a problem. The propane tank bay was enclosed and we now use that for our barbecue supplies.
