Didn't go but drove by headed to FMCA in Madison. Lots of coaches and aircraft. A friend of ours went with Adventure Caravans and said it was a great time and he is planning on another trip.
 Here is their website. http://www.eaa.org/en/airventure

If you like airplanes, go.  If you like to see airplanes fly, go.  If you want to see airplanes do things that you thought if they did that, they would crash, go.
I went two years ago, spent the week and enjoyed all of it.  When I was there it was hot and no rain.  Lots of walking.
I joined the EAA so I could park in their 'RV Park'.  Turns out it is a big field, no roads and all grass but inside the gates.  I was thankful it didn't rain.  No hookups where I was so plan on running the generator.  I had a father and son camped next to me in a tent so I used my Genturi to get the generator exhaust up high off the ground.
If you have bikes, take them as the area I parked was a good distance from the action.  Golf carts were around but I don't know if they were rented or not.

Go and enjoy.

Spouse and I went in 2013, with Fantasy RV Tours. It was fantastic! If you like airplanes you will love Oshkosh.
Fantasy provides generators, water service and honey wagon service, and some meals. EAA membership is included and provides access to everything. Shuttle bus service is provided throughout the facility.
I would be happy to sign you up or answer any questions.

Spent 8 nights this year dry camped on the grounds in "Camp Scholer".  That's what they call the general camping area. They do have some electric available for reservation, those spots are taken WAY in advance and for the most part are fairly tight.  The general parking dry camp area is huge and is first come first serve.  They do have designated areas for 24 generator, no pets, etc.  couldn't see where they really enforced any of that.

They have very nice showers, super clean porta-potties, a large dump station, and water.  We conserved and did fine for 8 nights but observed many using portable tanks, paying for on-site service, or driving to dump/fill..

It's quite a distance to the entry gates but they do have continuous shuttle buses constantly running.  Bikes and golf carts can be used but only as far as the entry gates.

Inside the gates the show is HUGE!  Every vendor  and every manufacturer you can imagine.  Airshow every day and two nighttime shows.  Shuttles run inside the grounds all day as well.
