I suspect a number of you use Waze as your car GPS. I recently became a Wazer and like the app. Impressive tool . . . and free! Anyone used it with their coach ? If yes, how has that worked out?

I use the CoPilot app and love it. It has an RV setting and is easy to use. You can also subscribe to the traffic info but we only use the app.

I also use Copilot and have had no problems with it. I have tried Waze and, although good, there is too much going on and too much distraction. I also would highly recommend Next Exit, either in book form or online.

Lee,

Waze is a great app until you find out whats going on behind the scenes. Everything you do, everywhere you go is recorded and saved for who knows why. They know where you live and when you are normally home, where you work (if you do), where you shop, where you travel and when and if you are speeding. Anytime your phone is on they know where you are and with a little certainty what you are doing. I have no idea what they do with this info but this free app is not free by any means. They must be selling this info to someone to support the free app!

Google maps will give you the same traffic info and if you do not sign-in, which you do not have to do, they have no idea who you are.

Just sayin,

Barney

Waze is owned by Google so they're all connected at the hip. Your car also collects your travel information. There are 30 million Waze users, so who's worried? If I was a terrorist or some kind of bad guy maybe it would be different.

Tom, Waze allows you to turn off any number of features being tracked, so you can simplify it a lot.

Hey, met Carolyn Strong yesterday and did a site visit to Sundermeier. CCI is going to hold a rally there next April. Many thanks for the lead.

Lee, I don't use waze or Google maps because they both require access to the internet and they burn data from my data plan.

I suggest that you take a look at the CoPilot app on either iOS or Android. It is a free app that can be inexpensively upgraded to a fabulous full function GPS and trip planner. I download the maps and updates when I have a connection to a free wifi. I'll demonstrate the product for you at the rally in Watkins Glenn.

I run the app on my iPad mini mounted to the center of my steering wheel.

See you in September Lee.

I live in the LA area where Waze is almost required. It great at re routing you around traffic jams, letting you know when there is a hazard in the street, cars stopped on the road or off the road, and the ETA is as accurate as you can get. My iphone has unlimited data but my ipad does not, so I use Waze in cities, otherwise I use my Pioneeer nav in the coach or maps on my ipad. If you worried about data getting out, it's probably a little too late if you do much of anything online. You may have noticed all the ads you get about anything you priced just once. The barn door was already left open.

Thanks George. I'll play with Waze until we get together next month. Then you can give me a first hand CoPilot Demo.

Norm,

None of us have an airbag in our coach steering wheel.

Thanks. I thought maybe some of them did. I actually thought ours did until I just now looked a little closer.
