location of transfer switch & Shure guard on 2000 Magna?

Can anyone tell me where the danged transfer switch is located on the 2000 Magna? It has been a LONG time since I had to look at anything electrical. And while we are at it, does anyone know where the Shure guard surge guard is located ??

The "reverse polarity"  worries me,  but... My transfer switch is located back in the BR closet on the passenger side.  It is a 10"x10" silver box Above the surge gaurd.  With gen off and pedestal power on,  Try banging on it with your fist,  or even with the handle of a hammer.  If that works you will need to have your transfer switch looked at later.

I have a 2001 Affinity.  My switch is located in the driver side bay that is directly in front of the plumbing bay.  It is hidden behind the bay wall that has a 18" panel you can remove to see the switch.  Good luck

2000 Magna here.  The transfer switch is in the electrical bay just forward of the first compartment.  The Surge Gard is there also.

On my 2000 magna 36ft, the forward electrical bay, just in front of the forward bay, has both the transfer switch and surge guard. Access is via a panel in the forward bay wall.  RUSS WARREN BUILD 5911

Does anyone know what the model  transfer switch was that was installed in the 2000 Magna?  I have the owners' instructions but there are a lot of numbers listed and I cannot find it anywhere. I cannot crawl under there. :(

Found the bay and the surge guard and the  transfer switch. ( or rather someone else crawled under there and did it.) But now they are gone and i need the darn model number. of the  transfer switch.

Also, he said the the bypass was on the surge guard. Is that the way it is supposed to be? I am wondering  about that one.  It did show two red lights that power was coming in, That  and the bypass.

On my 2000 Magna, the model is 34550 and the keyed bypass is set in the ON position.  RUSS WARREN

Thanks Russ. Is that a Todd Engineering model? I see the list of them in the owners manual as letters and numbers. Like PS245S. Do you see that on yours anywhere? or something like that?  PS or TS and a number and a S?  ( or no letter)

For those of you that have an early version of the Surge Guard that has the bypass switch, if the switch is in the bypass position you have no protection. This could cause some very expensive damage to your equipment if you happen to plug into shore power that has a problem. Been there done that and the Surge Guard saved my bacon. I plugged into a 30 amp plug that was wired incorrectly (wired like a 30 amp dryer plug) that would have sent 240 volts into the coach where it should have only been 120 volts. The Surge Guard would not pass the voltage to the coach as it knew something was wrong. The bypass should never be used and in fact the new Surge Guards no longer have this switch.

By the way, Surge Guard also makes Automatic Transfer Switches for RV's.

Thanks. I have NO idea why this bypass was turned on from the beginning. NO tech ever noticed it or said anything to me, and I had no idea. I don't remember them discussing this in any seminars, but that was so long ago...
I hate to know what this has done to my coach.  Just starting  the process of getting a transfer switch replaced.
This is not fun.

The surge protector and transfer switch are located the electrical compartment in front of the first bin.  You have to crawl in the bin, remove a panel, held with plastic turn retainers.  When you remove the panel the surge protector and transfer switch are located on the rear wall of the compartment.

Just want to pass a thank you to MagnaMama Rosemary for sharing her bad experience with power and an open ground and to Barney for his warning about older Surge Guards with keyed bypass switch.  I discovered my Surge Guard was indeed in the override position and offered no protection.  Spent lots of time today learning lots more about surge protectors, open grounds, faked 50 amp service, voltage regulators and circuit testers.  Without this discussion forum I wouldn't have realized the potential problems I've been risking.  Now am planning much more diligence with testing circuits and monitoring line voltage.
