Battery load test

My two Deka 8D,s may have gone south.  I would like to do a load test before spending big bucks.  Would appreciate any advice on process.

How Old Are they?

Almost any repair shop or good battery store can test the batteries.

Mikee,

They were installed in November of 2009.  I would hope for more than six years but I guess six is not too unusual.
I thought I would load test in the coach rather than pulling two 160 pound batteries and wrestling with them.  So the question is; is disconnecting the negative ground sufficient or should I do more to protect on board equipment? Lylewet

A battery shop or good repair facility should be able to test them in the  unit. Disconnecting the negative cable is enough. You must isolate each battery  so you may have to remove more than one cable.

I had Fountain RV in Lakeland, FL do it last year.  They did the test and printed out the results.
